Treatment and Vaccination Processes of Animals in Electronic Environment with E-Prescription System

Within the scope of the Electronic Prescription System (E-Prescription), which removes the obstacles to the fight against animal diseases, drug consumption control and especially the vaccination and treatment processes of stray animals, 5 million e-prescriptions were issued for 182,4 million animals of different species in 10,7 years, the number of prescribed drugs It exceeded 226 million.

In order to ensure the traceability of drugs used in the fight against animal diseases, to prevent residues in animal foods and to control drug consumption by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, the E-Prescription System was introduced on January 1, 2018, where veterinarians can issue their prescriptions electronically.

In order to ensure animal health and food safety, the Veterinary Drug Tracking System (ITS) was put into practice on March 1, 2018 to ensure the traceability of the import, production and distribution of veterinary drugs and the raw materials required for the production of these drugs.

Two applications that work integrated with each other were offered to veterinarians and pharmacists free of charge.

30,5 Million Animals Registered to the Vaccine Tracking System

To date, 27 users have registered for the E-Prescription System. 500 thousand 20 users and more than 455 thousand pharmacists were registered to ITS. To date, 25 million e-prescriptions have been issued for 182,4 million animals of different species, and the number of prescribed drugs has exceeded 10,7 million.

Thanks to the systems in question, it became possible to trace which animal, when and how each drug used in the treatment was administered.

As of August 15, 2019, the Vaccine Tracking System (ATS) was put into use by the Ministry in order to ensure the traceability of the biological vaccines used by veterinarians in Turkey, from the production or import to the last animal used.

Within the scope of the ATS, 30,5 million documents were issued for 9,5 million animals from different species, including poultry and fish. Thanks to the system, all vaccine stocks and vaccination records in Turkey can be monitored instantly.

Since the implementation of e-Prescription, ITS and ATS, 3,9 million unidentified animals have been registered for vaccination and treatment.
