Sogukkuyu Bridge is Expanded to Relieve Novices Traffic

The Sogukkuyu Bridge is being expanded in order to relieve the Acemler traffic, which is one of the key points of Bursa traffic. When the works are completed in May, the transition to Yunuseli and Hürriyet regions will be easier.

The lane widening works on the Soğukkuyu Bridge continue at full speed. The bridge, which was designed to ease the crossing of Mudanya and Soğukkuyu, consists of 14 legs and 70 spans, 6 meters wide and 5 meters long. 65 beams, 220 meters of bored piles, 850 cubic meters of concrete and 750 tons of iron are used in its manufacture. The widening of the bridge is expected to be completed in May.

Bursa Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Alinur Aktaş, who gave information about the works carried out, said, “Transportation is one of the most important issues of Bursa. In fact, transportation is one of the important issues of every developing metropolis. In this context, we are trying to eliminate transportation problems by building rail systems, new roads, bridges and intersections. Of course, at this point, we have spent 5 million liras, including expropriation costs, at 750 different points in order to relieve the Persians as the nodal point of the traffic for the city. First of all, we connected these two streets with the Oulu Tube Passage in order to prevent the density of vehicles coming from Hayran Street at the intersection. We expanded the Fan Street. We established a transfer center on an area of approximately 25 thousand square meters opposite Ali Osman Sönmez Hospital. We built a bus area between Batı Garajı and Bursaray Acemler station, a taxi platform for 15 buses and a parking lot with a parking capacity of 272 cars. When the hospital becomes operational, the importance of this ratio will become even more evident.”

Reminding that they are currently working on lane widening in Acemler, Mayor Aktaş continued his words as follows: “Our bridge, which we have designed to relieve the Mudanya and Soğukkuyu crossing, consists of 14 legs and 70 spans, 6 meters wide and 5 meters long. 65 beams, 220 meters of bored piles, 850 cubic meters of concrete and 750 tons of iron are used in its manufacture. If we are lucky, we will have completed this place by the end of April or the middle of May. We have three interconnected bridges to Fuat Kuşçuoğlu Street in Yunuseli. The cost of all three is around 200 million TL. We are planning to complete it by the end of June within the first half of the year. After that, our fellow citizens of Bursa will feel that the hesitation at this crossing point has disappeared and that there is serious relief. This relief is already beginning to be felt. Even though we have caused some discomfort to the environment, we will also have created an environment where we will experience comfort and pleasure for many years.”
