President Soyer Met with Young Sustainability Envoys

Within the scope of the third stage of the Izmir Sustainability Ambassadors Training Program, which was prepared under the leadership of Izmir Metropolitan Municipality, the Demo Day event, which brought together young entrepreneurs and investors, was held. Speaking at the opening of the event, where projects that produce solutions to local problems on a global scale were presented, the President Tunç Soyer"I believe that the emerging projects will give an opportunity to establish a better world," he said.

Demo Day event was held at the Alsancak Historical Gas Factory Youth Campus as part of the third phase of the Izmir Sustainability Envoys Training Program, which was prepared under the leadership of Izmir Metropolitan Municipality with the aim of opening up space for young people who will produce projects for the future of the city. The first three teams were announced at the event where the young people who successfully completed the Sustainability Envoys Training Program organized in cooperation with the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality and the European Union Delegation to Turkey, ESİAD Izmir EU Information Center, Izmir Planning Agency, Izmir Development Agency, Izmir Sustainable Urban Development Network and SÜGEP Academy presented their projects. . Nem-İZ took the first place, Telve-İZ took the second place, and the team named Sağlam-İZ took the third place. All teams participating in the program were given certificates at the event.

Together, now is the time to act. All the projects and all the works to be put forward are a part of this common mind and must succeed in being the cog in this common wheel.”

Emphasizing that a model has started to emerge with this program, President Soyer said, “I congratulate you all. Sustainability is the justice between the past and the future. The more the justice between the past and the future is based on solid foundations, the more happy and peaceful it becomes. I believe that the work done and the projects that have emerged will give an opportunity to establish a better world. You have a nice way. The business world of our city does not remain indifferent to this transformation. Young Sustainability Ambassadors Program will be a very important mark we leave on the way to another Turkey.”

Valuable projects

Sibel Zorlu, President of ESİAD, stated that she finds the projects created by young people more valuable than the other. Expressing his pleasure to be in Izmir, Head of the European Union Delegation Ambassador Nikolaus Meyer-Landrut said that the program is very useful for the emergence of young ideas.

Met with the investor ecosystem

In the third phase of the Sustainability Ambassadors Training Program, young ambassadors will also have a one-month internship opportunity. Within the scope of the European Green Agreement, sustainability studies will be carried out in İzmir Metropolitan Municipality companies, private sector and district municipalities.

120 Young Ambassadors graduated from the previous two programs of the Young Sustainability Ambassadors Program. These young people had the opportunity to make career planning in the field of sustainability and also found employment opportunities in this field. Innovative, cyclical and sustainable projects created by the ambassadors came to the stage of implementation by meeting with the investor ecosystem in İzmir.
