The work "Updating the 2053 Kocaeli Sustainable Transportation Master Plan and Logistics Master Plan" carried out by Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality is coming to an end. Kocaeli Sustainable Transportation Master Plan analyzes all modules of transportation in the city and offers solutions. In this context, evaluation and analysis studies on all transportation modes that ensure the safe and effective movement of people throughout Kocaeli are carried out in the field. In this study, which foresees a transportation system that is sensitive to the character of the society, socio-cultural effects and natural resources, a sustainable transportation system that supports economic growth and foresees the demands arising from development and growth, it is aimed to make new decisions about all of the parking lots, highways, public transportation, bicycle and pedestrian roads.
ONE YEAR FIELD STUDY
While approaching the end of the one-year study, different scenarios were created for the solution of the bottlenecks predicted to be experienced in Kocaeli. Information was exchanged on these scenarios at the meetings attended by the technical team of the Transportation Department and the contractor. With KUAP, it is aimed to make the highest contribution to Kocaeli transportation by realizing sustainable solutions and to leave a livable city to future generations.
AYGM APPROVAL PROCESS
Within the scope of “Updating the Kocaeli Sustainable Transportation Master Plan and Logistics Master Plan”, the Transportation Master Plan and Logistics Master Plan model data will be updated in accordance with the zoning plans and in the light of the data obtained from the field, and final reports will be created by testing the transportation modes in the model. After the final submissions of the reports, which are prepared to be an important source of information for Kocaeli for the 2053 Vision of Sustainable Transportation Investments, are sent to the administration, the process of following the AYGM Approval Process and making the Required Revisions will begin. The approval of the General Directorate of Infrastructure Investments (AYGM), affiliated to the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, will be followed by the contractor.
