The barrier-free living centers, heralded by Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Tahir Büyükakın, are being implemented one by one. Tender was held for barrier-free living centers to be operational in Izmit and Gebze. After the tender for Gebze Accessible Living Center last week, the tender for the Izmit Disabled Life Center, which is considered as an education and social center for the use of our disabled citizens, was also held on the Vinsan Campus. Three companies submitted bids for the electronic tender held in the tender hall of the metropolitan main service building.
MULTI-PURPOSE LIFE CENTER FOR THE DISABLED
The Izmit Barrier-Free Life Center, whose project was completed and tendered for, will have hydrotherapy pools, day care units, special education classes, skill development and vocational training workshops, sports and activity halls, cultural and artistic development academies, libraries, and recreation and social areas. The center will also include administrative offices, changing rooms and showers. All disabled individuals in the mentally handicapped, down, autistic, physically handicapped, hearing impaired, visually impaired and chronic disability groups will be able to benefit from all these opportunities. After the bids are reviewed by the commission, the site will be delivered within 10 working days after the contracts are signed to the winning company, and the work will be completed in 420 calendar days.
6 thousand 176 square meters of closed area
The Izmit Barrier-Free Life Center, which will be built on the upper side of the Lastik-İş Social Facilities within the Vinsan Campus, has been designed as a closed area of 9 thousand 609 square meters on a total area of 6 thousand 176 square meters. The project was planned as a ground floor, suitable for all kinds of disabled people. Within the scope of the work, on the basement floor of 913 m2; bunker, boiler room, water tank, electrical and mechanical rooms, personnel locker room. On the 5.264 square meter ground floor, there is an administrative section, waiting area, information desk, training unit, infirmary, administrative responsible office, multi-purpose hall, family counseling unit, psychotherapy unit, conference hall, library, painting, barista, weaving, printing house, hairdresser, music. handicrafts, kitchen and informatics workshops, multi-purpose training hall, individual training classes. Again on the ground floor, independent living room, gym, hydrotherapy pool, men's and women's locker-shower area, warehouse, dining hall, kitchen, teachers' room, prayer room, WC-sink, support staff room, warehouse, mentally handicapped group, coordinator room, sensory integration room, autism group training room, autism individual training room, children's rest room, game room were planned in the project. In addition, there are 875 courtyards of 450 square meters and 2 square meters and a children's playground for therapy and hobby purposes for individuals and children. A 20-car parking lot will also be built in front of the center.
