Applications for the Elderly Support Program (YADES 2023), which will evaluate the projects to be prepared by the municipalities to protect, support and facilitate the lives of the elderly, have started.
The Ministry of Family and Social Services continues its efforts to increase the number of services provided to the elderly and to diversify them according to needs in Turkey, where the elderly population rate is approaching 10 percent.
In the provision of services for the elderly, in addition to institutional care services, alternative preventive service models such as "home care" and "day care" are being expanded. Projects are carried out to develop day care and home care support services, which are the primary preferences of the elderly and their relatives.
7 million TL financing support was provided in 39 years
In this context, YADES, which started to be implemented in 2016 and continued with the resources transferred from the general budget, aims to raise awareness in the field of old age, to support the elderly in their home environment and to support their participation in social life by activating local dynamics.
With the protection and support of people over the age of 65, financial support of 7 million TL was provided in 39 years in order to facilitate the lives of those in need of bio-psycho-social care by performing the necessary care in the places where they live.
In this context, 7 thousand 35 elderly people were reached in 61 thousand 76 households with 497 projects carried out in 111 municipalities in 559 years.
The Ministry of Family and Social Services allocated 6 million 205 thousand liras for YADES this year.
With the resources transferred from the general budget, YADES, which is the first support program with the largest budget in the field of old age, encourages the elderly to age without leaving their families and the environment they are used to, their active participation in all areas of social life, and their active and healthy aging.
Project proposals will be submitted to the governorships until February 26.
Within the scope of the YADES 2023 program, an appropriation of 6 million 205 thousand lira will be used for projects to be prepared by the municipalities and proposed by the governorships, within the scope of the procedures and principles determined by the Ministry.
The duration of the projects to be prepared by the municipalities will be one year. Approved projects will be implemented by municipalities, and inspections will be carried out through governorships.
The municipalities that will apply to the program must submit their project proposals to the governorships until February 26, 17.00:XNUMX.
