WHEN DO RAMAZAN BEGIN?

The calendar of religious days prepared according to the Hijri calendar within the Presidency of Religious Affairs determined the dates for the month of Ramadan.

Accordingly, the first day of Ramadan will begin on Thursday, March 23, 2023. The last day of Ramadan and the eve of Eid will be realized on Thursday, April 20, 2023.

WHEN WILL THE FIRST FAST?

The most important worship of the month of Ramadan, the sultan of 11 months, will be fasting. For the first fast, sahur will be woken up on the night that connects 22 March to 23 March.

WHEN IS REGAIP CANDILI FASTING?

Regaip Kandili fasting is the fasting for the blessed Regaip Kandili, which is the first Friday of the month of Recep. However, this fasting is not just one day. Those who want to fast on Regaip Kandili should also fast the next day.

From a religious point of view, the previous day ends with the sunset and a new day begins. Night comes before day (Kurtubi, al-Câmi', XIV, 15). As a matter of fact, since the month of Ramadan begins with the sunset on the last day of Sha'ban, the tarawih prayer is performed that night, and since the month of Shawwal begins with the sunset on the last day of Ramadan, the tarawih prayer is not performed that night.

In this respect, the actual time of supererogatory fasts for oil lamp nights is the day following the night, but it can be fasted together with the previous day.
