With the participation of TCDD Transportation General Directorate and 14 national companies, “1. Freight Car Maintenance Workshop” was held at Behiç Erkin Hall on Thursday, December 1st.

In the 1st Freight Wagon Maintenance Workshop, the 4th function of the ECM, which carries out the freight wagon maintenance, the companies with the maintenance supply function, the demands and opinions of the sector, and the solutions to the problems of the sector were evaluated.

Deputy General Manager Erol Arıkan, Head of Vehicle Maintenance Department Murat Durkan, Head of Cargo Department Naci Özçelik, relevant personnel and 1 national companies attended the 14st Freight Wagon Maintenance Workshop, which started with the opening speech of TCDD Transportation General Manager Ufuk Yalçın.

Stating that the workshop held for 2022 will be repeated periodically, General Manager Ufuk Yalçın said: “Within the scope of the liberalization of railway transportation, TCDD Transportation General Directorate as the railway train operator, TCDD General Directorate as the railway infrastructure operator and TÜRASAŞ for the development of the national and domestic railway industry, for the development of the railway. it works.” said.

Yalçın continued his words as follows: “I wish the 1st Freight Wagon Maintenance Workshop to bring good luck to our industry. All participants here have one purpose. To identify the problems of the railway sector, to develop joint solution proposals and to produce for the development of our sector. We work with our stakeholders, who are involved in the maintenance-repair, modernization and revision of the vehicles used in railway freight and passenger transportation, in line with the objectives of contributing to the development of the railways. At this point, we want to talk about our problems and find solutions with an approach that is sustainable and equidistant from all our stakeholders for a healthy and safe transportation. We should evaluate what we can do about which issues. This workshop will contribute in this sense. “

Emphasizing that customer satisfaction is very important, General Manager Yalçın continued his words as follows: “If we move away from traditional understanding and are open to innovations and new ideas, we can raise the quality to the upper bar. The expectations of customers have changed in our country and in the world. Customer satisfaction is always our priority. We are working to meet their demands with the approach of “The customer is our boss”.

Yalçın, Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Adil Karaismailoğlu stated that priority is given to railway investments and the national and domestic railway industry, and said, “We signed a 3-year contract with TÜRASAŞ for the revision of both towed and towed vehicles in our processes. Working together with TÜRASAŞ, we also ensure the effective and efficient use of public resources. We see that the development of the railway sector is not only the investments made by the state, but the private sector will increase the opportunities it sees in this sense by adding it to its own business areas and improving itself with the investments it will make. Our budget this year was 2,5 billion TL, I hope we planned to invest 8,5 billion TL for our vehicle fleet next year.”

Then, the companies were promised and their demands and opinions on the sector were listened to.

Vehicle Maintenance Department Murat Durkan: “The fact that our revision and new production sector is good will increase both quality and competition. Naci Özçelik, Head of Cargo Department, said: “Revisions are of great importance in order to increase and strengthen freight-related transportation.” he concluded his speech.

Erol Arıkan, Deputy General Manager of TCDD Transportation: “Thank you for your presentations. It was illuminating against the demands and solution proposals of our industry. We will ensure the development of our sector by producing joint solutions for the problems of our sector.” said.

General Manager Ufuk Yalçın, who stated that they had a productive meeting at the point of finding common solutions with our stakeholders for the development of our industry, presented plaques to the participating companies and had group photos taken.
