Turkey's candidacy for EUREKA July 2023 – June 2024 Term Presidency was unanimously approved at the High Level Group Meeting held in Belgium, with the support of all members.

Turkey's term presidency of EUREKA will be carried out under the coordination of TÜBİTAK. In this context, in November 2023, March 2024 and June 2024, three big meetings will be hosted by TÜBİTAK and the Global Innovation Summit will be held with the participation of companies from EUREKA member countries. Meetings supported by social events will provide an advantage in promoting our country's R&D and innovation ecosystem.

A PRESTIGIOUS MISSION TO TURKEY

TÜBİTAK, which will be the chairman of the 47-member network and the chairman of the EUREKA Association, will take on important responsibilities and obligations with this task, and will also bring a serious prestige to our country. Being in constant communication with other countries and being able to direct EUREKA's activities according to the strategic priorities of the chairman country in TÜBİTAK Coordination are among the most important advantages.

As one of the founding and active members of EUREKA, which is a leading platform in its field with its basic characteristics, significant benefits are obtained from the cooperation opportunities provided by the platform at the global level. Thanks to the support tools that provide the opportunity to cooperate with 47 member countries as well as non-member countries, and flexible call structures that can be shaped by quickly taking positions according to the priorities of the industry and countries, international industrial cooperation can be created quickly on current technological issues.

ABOUT EUREKA

EUREKA is known as an important international cooperation platform established to encourage the research and development of advanced technologies, products, processes and services that will increase the competitiveness of industrial and research organizations in European countries in the world markets, and to encourage the creation and execution of joint projects between countries.

EUREKA was founded in 1985 by 18 European countries, including Turkey, and the EU Commission. With the increase in the effectiveness and functionality of the EUREKA network over time, the number of members increased to 47 with the inclusion of non-European countries such as Canada, South Korea, South Africa and Singapore.

Turkey served as the Term President of EUREKA for two terms, between 1998-1999 and 2012-2013.

TURKEY'S ACTIVITIES WITHIN THE SCOPE OF EUREKA

Actively operating in EUREKA since 1985, Turkey became the 2008th country with the highest number of project partnerships, with 2021 project proposals with Turkish partners between 959-11. These projects are evaluated, financed and monitored by TUBITAK.

Our country is represented in EUREKA with the position of Eureka Country High Level Represantative (HLR) with the assignment made by the Ministry of Industry and Technology.
