The street called 'Sarıkamış Martyrs' was opened in the Kalaba District of the district within the scope of the Sarıkamış Martyrs Commemoration Program by the Keçiören Municipality. After the opening, the participants marched to the Sarıkamış Martyrs' Monument in Kalaba City Square with Turkish flags in their hands.

AK Party Ankara Deputy Orhan Yeğin, Keçiören Mayor Turgut Altınok, Keçiören District Governor Mehmet Akçay, AK Party 21st Term Ardahan Deputy Saffet Kaya, RTÜK Deputy Chairman Orhan Karadaş, Kars Ardahan Iğdır Associations Federation President Erdoğan Yıldırım, Ankara Metropolitan Municipality and Keçiören Municipality Councilor Ali Turgut, representatives of political parties and non-governmental organizations, headmen, veterans and citizens.

Addressing the participants in the commemoration program that continued with the Qur'an recitation in front of the Sarıkamış Martyrs' Monument, Keçiören Mayor Turgut Altınok said, “The sons of the valiant martyrs who froze in Sarıkamış are here. As our poet said, 'The flag is the blood that makes the flag, the land is the homeland if anyone dies for it.' For the sake of our homeland, our state, our future, running in front of the bullets without fear, willingly; We commemorate our valiants, martyrs and Mehmetçik who died in that white snow with mercy and gratitude. May their place be heaven. I always say; Kars, Ardahan, Iğdır is our gate. They are our honor, our border. If there is a place, there is this place and it is comfortable, if there is a place, Istanbul is comfortable, Turkey is comfortable. Greetings to our border lengths and frontier provinces.” said.

In his speech, President Altınok pointed out that Keçiören was an important headquarters in the National Struggle and said:

“December 27 is approaching. December 27, 2022 is the 103rd anniversary of Atatürk's arrival in Ankara. Of course, when Atatürk reaches Ankara on 27 December, he first comes to Keçiören. The center of our War of Independence is Keçiören. We commemorate with mercy and gratitude our valiants and heroes, especially the founder and founder of our state, Ghazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, who left us this heavenly homeland. May their place be heaven. May Allah grant us their intercession. I hope we will try to be worthy of them.”

Emphasizing the importance of unity and solidarity in order to carry Turkey to a brighter future, Altınok said, “This country is not a homeland bought with dollars or potatoes. It is a homeland that was taken with the blood of our martyrs. We will protect our state, our nation, our independence, our future and our future. We believe that we will have more say in our region with a stronger and bigger Turkey. We have become a Turkey with a warplane, a Turkey with a warship, a Turkey with a long-range missile, a Turkey that produces tanks rather than having Israel maintain its tanks, and a Turkey with UAVs and SİHAs. We will continue to be a Turkey that achieves even greater success. Now there is a Turkey that produces UAVs and SİHAs. There is now a Turkey with a Turkish flag on its mountains, not the flag of terrorists, traitors and subcontractors. We have a flag in Cudi and Tendürek. We have UAVs, we have UAVs. We use it both in our domestic and international operations. As long as we have these, we will again be the center of civilization in the world. We will continue to experience the honor of being the sons of ancestors with a great civilization. May the souls of our martyrs rest in peace, may our Republic of Turkey exist forever.” he said.
