SUE Mosgortrans will test the GAZelle e-City electric van. The vehicle was presented at the BWW Expo in Moscow.

Such minibuses are perfect for narrow roads and small passenger traffic. Electric vans are equipped with terminals for contactless toll payment and USB ports for charging devices. It is designed for 16 passengers. The battery charge is enough for 150 kilometers of driving. In addition, minibuses have a low floor system and a storage platform for the transportation of disabled passengers and wheelchairs or prams.

“On behalf of Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin, we continue to develop environmentally friendly public transport. Mosgortrans will test GAZ Group's new electric minibus. The test will run until the end of August 2023. Experts will check the operating parameters of the vehicle and its ability to work in different weather conditions, paying particular attention to its suitability for passengers. “This test will allow us to carefully analyze all the indicators and decide on further operations in Moscow,” said Maksim Liksutov, Deputy Mayor of Moscow Transport.

Electric buses were launched in Moscow 4 years ago, in 2018. Meanwhile, this innovative road transport has proven its effectiveness. Today, more than 79 electric buses operate on 1 bus routes and carry around 400 thousand passengers per day. Electric buses covered more than 4 million passengers, covering 100 million kilometers in 226 years, of which 72 million were transported in 2022.
