Konya Metropolitan Hosted the 2nd National Bus Station Management Workshop

Konya Metropolitan Municipality hosted the second of the National Bus Station Management Workshop, attended by bus station managers from 45 different cities of Turkey. Bus station managers, who also participated in the city tour, were amazed by Konya at the end of the workshop, which was organized to find solutions to the problems that arise in intercity passenger transportation, to increase the quality of transportation and to share experience.

The 2nd National Bus Station Management Workshop was hosted by Konya Metropolitan Municipality.

Speaking at the opening of the workshop, Hasan Görgülü, Head of Transportation Department of Konya Metropolitan Municipality, stated that they came together to solve the problems that arise in terms of transportation and made a presentation about the services of Konya Metropolitan Municipality in this regard.

Kemal Yılmaz, the 2nd Regional Director of the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, mentioned that bus station management is a difficult service, and said that as a result of the workshop, technology, informatics and communication channels between the bus stations will be strengthened.

Ahmet Furkan Kuşdemir, Deputy Secretary General of Konya Metropolitan Municipality, said, “With this workshop we organized for the second time; We will consult with a common language about our knowledge and what we can do to solve our problems.” he said.

MANAGERS FROM 45 DIFFERENT CITIES ATTENDED

Bus station managers from 45 different cities participated in the workshop, which was organized in order to find solutions to the common problems that arise in the management of bus stations, which are the center of intercity passenger transportation, to increase the quality standards in transportation, to improve communication between units and to share experiences.

In the 2nd National Bus Station Management Workshop, in which Turkish Bus Drivers Federation, Bus Operators Association, Konya Bus Operators Association and O-Bilet A.Ş are stakeholders; Sessions titled Smart and Sustainable Transportation, Authorization Certificates and Fare Tariffs, Principles of Rental, Operation and Passenger Transportation Service, Internal Traffic of Bus Station, Security and Public Order, Role and Importance of Municipalities in Terminal Management were held.

MEET WITH PRESIDENT ALTAY

Konya Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Uğur İbrahim Altay also came together with the bus station managers participating in the workshop, drawing attention to the importance of the workshop held in Konya, which is an exemplary city in transportation, and wished it to be beneficial.

At the end of the 3-day workshop, the bus station managers, who participated in the Konya tour and visited the historical and touristic places of the city, said that they liked Konya very much.
