Increase in Public Transportation Fees in Trabzon

Trabzon Metropolitan Municipality, which is among the metropolitan cities that provide the cheapest public transportation service in Turkey, is going to make compulsory adjustments in its tariffs as of the new year due to the price increase in transportation service items. Paying attention to positive discrimination for students in every field, the Metropolitan Municipality decided to apply an increase of only 0,50 cents to the student boarding price.

While the metropolitan municipalities in Turkey make an additional hike in transportation, Trabzon Metropolitan Municipality compels all the conditions in order not to put its citizens and students in a difficult situation; had to change the tariff due to the increase in items such as fuel oil, maintenance-repair and tires. The Metropolitan Municipality continued to be a student-friendly city by applying an increase of only 0,50 cents to the student boarding price. According to the decision taken at the Trabzon Metropolitan Municipality Transportation Coordination Center (UKOME) Meeting, Ortahisar district was determined as 5.00 lira, discounted 4.00 lira and student 2.50 lira.

In the statement made by the Trabzon Metropolitan Municipality Transportation Department; “As of 01.01.2023, public transportation ticket prices will be updated. In this context, the full passenger boarding price in the city will be 5.00 TL, the discounted 4.00 TL, and the student boarding price will be 2.50 TL. As Trabzon Metropolitan Municipality, we are in the 30rd metropolitan position that provides the cheapest transportation among 3 metropolitan cities even after the update in ticket prices. We maintain our feature of being a student-friendly city by applying an increase of only 2.00 cents to the student boarding price, which was 0,50 lira before the price update.

The new tariff to be applied in Ortahisar and other districts in public transportation vehicles belonging to the Metropolitan Municipality has been determined as follows:

Ortahisar: Full 5.00 lira, discounted 4.00 lira, student 2.50 lira
Akcaabat: 7.50 liras for full, 6.00 liras for discount, 5.00 liras for students
Arakli: Full 12.00 lira, discounted 9.60 lira, student 6.50 lira
Arsin: Full 15.50 lira, discounted 12.40 lira, student 8.00 lira
Beşikdüzü: Full 19.00 TL, discounted 15.20 TL, student 10 TL
Çarşıbaşı: Full 12.00 TL, discounted 9.60 TL, student 6.50 TL
Çaykara: Full 40.00 lira, discounted 32.00 lira, student 18.75 lira
Düzköy: Full 12.00 TL, discounted 9.60 TL, student 6.50 TL
