First Direct Flight Between Shanghai and Athens Launched

A passenger plane departing from Shanghai, China, landed at Athens International Airport on 22 December at 19.21:21.15 Greek time, and the return flight departed for Shanghai at XNUMX:XNUMX on the same day. Thus, the first direct flight route between Shanghai and Athens was opened.

Xiao Jun, Chinese Ambassador to Athens, said that this year marks the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Greece, and that the opening of the direct route between Shanghai and Athens will build a new bridge for the intensification of friendly contacts between the two countries. Ambassador stated that it will provide a new assurance for the expansion of personnel communication between the two countries, the increase of economic and commercial cooperation, and the deepening of bilateral friendly relations.
