Emirates and Air Canada are expanding the scope of their partnership agreements to begin offering joint loyalty program benefits to 'passenger loyalty program' members. Emirates Skywards members can now travel to more than 220 destinations around the world with the opportunity to earn and spend Miles on all flights operated by Air Canada. Aeroplan members will also be able to access more than 130 destinations on six continents via the airline's hub Dubai, by taking advantage of Points to be earned and spent on all Emirates operated flights.

The deal was signed by Emirates Skywards Senior Vice President, Dr. Signed by Nejib Ben Khedher and Mark Youssef Nasr, Air Canada Senior Vice President Product, Marketing, eCommerce and Head of Aeroplan, at Emirates Group Headquarters in Dubai.

Emirates Skywards Senior Vice President, Dr. Nejib Ben Khedher said in a statement: “We are delighted to take our partnership to the next level with Air Canada and we are officially launching our joint passenger loyalty program service. Thus, nearly 40 million of our 'passenger loyalty program' members will have the opportunity to earn and spend Miles on the shared flight network of more than 350 destinations, and will benefit from privileged advantages such as Lounges. We look forward to launching new services for our Passenger Loyalty program members, as well as welcoming Aeroplan members on Emirates flights with our award-winning products and exceptional service.”

More travel options, more chances to earn Miles

With the new agreement, Emirates Skywards members will be able to earn Miles on all eligible Air Canada flights. Skywards members will be able to use their Miles to purchase tickets on Air Canada's network. Flight rewards will start at 8.000 Miles for Economy Class one-way tickets and 16.000 Miles for Business Class one-way tickets.

Aeroplan members will be able to earn Aeroplan Points and spend Aeroplan Points on Emirates flights based on the type of ticket purchased on all eligible flights operated by Emirates.

Aeroplan members will be able to redeem their Points at no additional charge from 15.000 Points on Emirates Economy Class and Business Class one-way flights. Members will also have the opportunity to win numerous reward opportunities by combining Aeroplan's extensive network of airline partners on a single ticket. The option to redeem Aeroplan Points on Emirates First Class flights will become available in early 2023.

Premium Lounge Access

Emirates Skywards Platinum and Gold members traveling in Economy Class on Air Canada or Emirates flights will also receive free entry with one guest to Air Canada's Maple Leaf Lounges and Air Canada Café in Toronto Pearson.

Aeroplan Elite 50K, 75K and Super Elite members traveling with Emirates in Economy Class will receive free entry to the Emirates Business Class Lounge in Dubai with one guest.

Access to North America, Asia, Middle East and Africa

Airlines switched to the codeshare program at the beginning of 2022 to offer their passengers uninterrupted connections across North America, Asia, the Middle East and Africa. In addition to Toronto, Emirates passengers will now be able to book flights to destinations in Canada such as Calgary, Edmonton, Halifax, Montreal, Ottawa and Vancouver.

Air Canada passengers also benefit from uninterrupted access to Emirates' extensive flight network via Dubai, with Colombo, Dhaka, Karachi and Lahore in the Indian Subcontinent, Bangkok, Hanoi, Phuket, Kuala Lumpur and Singapore in Southeast Asia, and Jeddah and Muscat in the Middle East. They will also be able to travel to a significant number of destinations in Africa, such as Addis Ababa and Dar Es Salaam*.

Receiving recognition for its industry-leading work and innovative product offerings, Emirates Skywards was recently awarded the 2021 Frequent Traveler Awards' "Program of the Year in Europe, Middle East and Africa" ​​and "Best Passenger Services" awards.
