The World's First C919 Aircraft Takes Its Place in the Skies

The world's first C919 aircraft flew from Shanghai Pudong International Airport to Shanghai Hongqiao Airport today. In addition, the plane was delivered to China Eastern Airlines with an official ceremony this morning. COMAC company awarded China Eastern Airlines the world's first C919 commemorative key and aircraft sales certificate. The Chinese Civil Aviation Administration has delivered the registration certificate, airworthiness certificate (AC) and radio license for the C919 aircraft to China Eastern Airlines.

COMAC had recently been awarded the license that would allow the C919 to be mass-produced. The model in question successfully performed its first flight in 2017. In September of this year, the C919 obtained certificates that its design complies with flight safety and airworthiness criteria, as well as environmental requirements. On the other hand, the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) announced that 15 pilots have been qualified to drive the C919 road plane. This indicates that the C919 passenger aircraft will be delivered and put into service soon.
