Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Adil Karaismailoğlu stated that they are counting the days for the first voyage of the AKM-Gar-Kızılay Metro Line, which is extremely important in terms of providing direct metro transportation from Keçiören to Kızılay, and said that the testing and commissioning processes continue. Pointing out that 108 new generation metro vehicles were purchased by the Ministry in addition to the 324 existing vehicles to be operated on the metro lines, Karaismailoğlu emphasized that the number of metro vehicles working on the lines has been quadrupled.

Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Adil Karaismailoğlu examined the works on the AKM-Gar-Kızılay Metro Line on site. Karaismailoğlu, who made a statement at the Kızılay stop after the examination, said, “We are happy and excited today. Because; We are counting down the days for the first expedition of our new project, which will bring this meaningful project needed by the people of Ankara to life as soon as possible and expand Ankara's rail system network. We are on the verge of bringing a new line to Ankara with the AKM-Gar-Kızılay Metro. Our AKM-Gar-Kızılay Metro Line, which is 3,3 kilometers long and consists of 3 stations, namely the Gar-Adliye and Kızılay, is also extremely important in terms of providing direct metro transportation from Keçiören to Kızılay. Our citizens will reach the YHT station via the Gar Station, which is the first stop on our line with a daily capacity of 600 thousand passengers; Thanks to the same station, it will be able to transfer to Başkentray and Ankaray”.

WE PURCHASE 324 NEW GENERATION METRO VEHICLES

Expressing that it is possible to transfer to the M1 line, ie Başkentray, through the second station, the Adliye Station, Karaismailoğlu said that the last station is Kızılay, and from here it is possible to transfer to the Batıkent, Çayyolu and Ankaray metro lines. Karaismailoğlu said, “In addition to the existing 108 vehicles to be operated on the said metro lines, 324 new generation metro vehicles were purchased by our Ministry,” Karaismailoğlu said, emphasizing that the number of metro vehicles operating on the lines has been quadrupled. Transport Minister Karaismailoğlu said, “The storage and maintenance center for metro vehicles has been revised and its capacity has been increased. In addition, a new storage and maintenance center was established in the Çayyolu region.

OUR TEST AND COMMISSIONING WORK CONTINUES

Karaismailoğlu, who also gave information about the works carried out, continued his speech as follows: “We have completed 4 percent of the reinforced concrete productions of the 335-storey AKM Car Park with a capacity of 100 vehicles. We have completed all the manufacturing of the Zafer Park emergency exit structure, which has a shaft diameter of 14 meters and a depth of 37 meters. We have completed the entire TBM tunnel manufacturing. We have installed 7 thousand 295 meters of line upper rail structure. We have also completed all the productions on the line with the AKM Parking Lot, Train Station, Courthouse and Kızılay Stations. Our testing and commissioning works continue. We look forward to completing all the works and putting our line at the service of our people at the beginning of 2023. As the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, we support our country-wide growth based on investment, employment, production, exports and current surplus. At the same time, we make the lives of our citizens easier and bring them together with comfortable and new generation public transportation systems.”

TOTAL ECONOMIC GAINS WILL REACH 379 MILLION EURO

Pointing out that the AKM-Gar-Kızılay Metro Line will offer significant benefits to Ankara residents and Ankara, Karaismailoğlu said that with the opening of the metro line; 104 million in highway maintenance and operation, 43 million in the prevention of traffic accidents, 124 million in time savings, external factors such as air pollution, climate change, noise, nature and green land cost, biodiversity, reduction from soil and water pollution. He stated that in the 108-year vision, the total economic income of Ankara residents will reach 35 million Euros, including 379 million from the benefits.
