The works for transforming the Euphrates Nursery, designed as a 30 thousand square meter recreational area that will give Buca a breath of fresh air, to a Living Park, are continuing rapidly.

The Fırat Nursery, which is of great importance with its proximity to 5 neighborhoods in Buca and has been used as a sapling warehouse for about 35 years, will be opened to the use of the public as the Living Park, the size of 3 football fields.

İzmir Metropolitan Municipality company İzDoğa coordinates the construction works in the park on behalf of the Emergency Solution Team. İZBETON, İZSU and İZENERJİ, together with the Department of Science Affairs, the Department of Construction Works and the Department of Parks and Gardens, are also involved in the construction of the park. The opening of İzmir's newest park will be held in April 2023.

The park is designed according to the needs of the public

The area, which was used as a sapling warehouse before, was built by the Mayor of Izmir Metropolitan Municipality. Tunç SoyerIt is being evaluated as a part of 's project to create 35 Living Parks in Izmir and opened to public use.

As a result of the field research conducted by the Emergency Solution Team formed by Mayor Soyer, it was determined that the residents of Gediz district wanted a park.

In the Fırat Nursery Living Park, there will be a biological pond, greenhouse, meadow where events will be held, amphitheater, neighborhood garden and picnic area to meet the needs of the residents. There will also be walking routes, cafes, recreation, sports and playgrounds for children in the park.

Plants compatible with the nature of İzmir will be planted

Plants suitable for the climate and nature of İzmir are preferred in the afforestation works carried out during the transformation of the Euphrates Nursery into a Living Park.

In the 30 thousand square meter park that will be brought to Buca, dozens of different types of soil such as almonds, gum, insane olives, sandalwood, redbud, thyme, and black pepper will meet.

Pond, neighborhood garden and infrastructure manufacturing continues

Work continues on making the Euphrates Nursery in Buca one of the 35 Living Parks. Deep excavation works have been completed in the construction of the pond to be located in the park, and the correction works for the surrounding roads and landscaping demarcation works are continuing. The production of the viewing terrace, which will be on the shore of the pond, has come to an end.

The cafe building, which will be located in the park and will be the meeting point of the visitors, has been completed. Revisions, repair, maintenance and repair works have been completed in the existing greenhouse in the area, lighting and landscaping continues. Excavations for waste and rain water lines in infrastructure manufacturing have started.

The construction of the fences planned for the border between the residences in the neighboring parcel around the park and the park has been completed, and the arrangement works for the neighborhood garden, which will be evaluated by the residents, are continuing.
