Moscow Metro carried out the technical launch of the northeastern section of the Peripheral Line. A Moskva-2020 train went from Savyolovskaya to Elektrozavodskaya station in test mode.
The length of the section is 7,2 km. The new stations will increase transport accessibility for approximately 900 thousand people. Of the 12 districts of the city – approximately 250 thousand live within walking distance of the network. Passengers will be able to save up to 40 minutes a day.
In addition, the launch of the new section will free up the entrance to Sokolniki station (Line 1) by up to 25%, and the entrance to Rizhskaya (Line 6) and Marina Roscha (Line 10) up to 20%. New parking lots, intersections and stops will appear next to each station.

This is an important infrastructure project in Moscow, it will change mobility in the capital, relieve urban transport and major highways. BCL's 22 stations have already opened, 10 of which entered service in December last year. The line will have 31 stations in total. The 70 km long circumferential line will be the longest subway line in the world, surpassing the world leader Beijing Peripheral Line (Line 10).
