With the cooperation of Keçiören Municipality and Turkish Swimming Federation, '7-8 Age National Development Project League', 27 December Atatürk's Arrival in Ankara Swimming Races' was held in Keçiören Municipality Etlik Olympic Swimming Pool. In the special swimming tournament where 36 clubs and 517 athletes competed, the little swimmers competed for the first place in a fierce competition. Keçiören Mayor Turgut Altınok presented the medals to the top athletes at the end of the races.
Keçiören Mayor Turgut Altınok congratulated the little swimmers and their families and expressed his satisfaction with the interest of future generations in swimming.
Altınok also stated that Etlik Olympic Swimming Pool and sports facilities host many organizations and made the following assessment:
“Our Keçiören Olympic Swimming Pool, which we built 18 years ago and is above the standards where the world swimming Olympics will be held, is a wonderful facility where thousands of our youth and athletes swim and learn how to swim. Tournaments and qualifiers of our Swimming Federation are held here. It is a magnificent piece of work with its Olympic swimming pool, semi-Olympic swimming pool, 5 meter jumping towers. Our joy is that today, on the 27th of December, on the occasion of Atatürk's arrival in Ankara, there was a swimming championship in which a total of 36 athletes aged 7-8 from our 517 clubs in Ankara participated. We saw our future, the joy and happiness of our children in their eyes. We prepare them for the future in the best and healthiest way possible. A healthy society will develop with these children and many European and world champions will emerge among them. We share their happiness and congratulate them for bringing such a flagship swimming pool to our country.”
