Latest Statement Optimizing Outbreak Responses Released in China

Ten new measures have been published in China, including further optimizing countermeasures against the Covid-19 outbreak, allowing mildly symptomatic or asymptomatic cases to be placed in home quarantine, and reducing the frequency of nucleic acid testing.

According to a statement released today by the Joint Prevention and Control Mechanism of the Chinese State Council of State Council, COVID-19 testing requirement has been lifted for most public places other than hospitals and schools.

The PCR test and health code requirement for domestic interregional travelers has been removed.

It has been recommended that asymptomatic and mild cases of Covid-19 be quarantined at home when conditions permit.

Authorities also underlined the need to speed up the vaccination of the elderly. All local governments will focus on increasing the vaccination rates of those aged 60-79 and those aged 80 and over.
