First Freight Train from Turkey to Uzbekistan Arrives in Tashkent

The first cargo train from Turkey to Uzbekistan arrived in Tashkent. "Uzbekistan Railways" JSC Chairman of the Board Khasilov, Turkey's Ambassador to Tashkent Olgan Bekar, Uzbekistan State Railways General Manager Husniddin Hasilov and other Uzbek and Turkish officials and many members of the press were present at the ceremony.

Let us remind you that within the framework of the heads of the Organization of Turkish States held in Samarkand in November this year, an agreement was reached on the creation and development of new transportation transit corridors. As a result of this agreement, the first freight train with 40 wagons reached Tashkent from Izmir.

It is noteworthy that this train is the first freight train on the "Turkey-Iran-Turkmenistan-Uzbekistan" route. More than 250 wagons are currently planned to arrive on this route.

It should be noted that this route has great development potential, is an additional route for the transportation of Uzbek goods in international directions, and is beneficial for the country's entrepreneurs in sending export cargoes and import cargoes from Uzbekistan to Turkey.

Such measures implemented by Uzbekistan allow effective use of the existing transport and communication networks and infrastructure in the region, as well as significantly reducing the time and financial costs spent on transporting foreign trade goods to world and regional markets.
