The bridge built by Kağıthane Municipality for the citizens to provide easier access to the Green Valley, one of the most beautiful recreation areas of Istanbul, was opened with a ceremony.

Hosting thousands of people every day in Kağıthane; An alternative pedestrian path was built to the Green Valley, which includes many kinds of trees and plants, bicycle and walking path, paw park, social facility, landscape pond and picnic areas. The Green Valley Pedestrian Bridge, which was built for the residents of Kağıthane to provide easier transportation, was opened with a ceremony with the participation of District Governor Tahir Şahin and Kağıthane Mayor Mevlüt Öztekin. Citizens' interest in the opening of the bridge, which connects Gürsel District and Merkez District, was intense.

55 tons of steel was used in the construction of the bridge. With the bridge, which is 32 meters long and 4 meters wide, in accordance with the historical texture, it will now be possible to cross the Green Valley on foot from Imrahor Street in one minute. Before the bridge was built, citizens had to walk about half an hour to reach the Green Valley.

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the bridge, Mayor of Kağıthane Mevlüt Öztekin; “We strive to leave beautiful works for the future. Almost 4 years have passed since we took office. We have accomplished 95% of the projects we promised. For example, the Hasbahçe Bridge was not among the projects. During this period, we opened dozens of projects that were not like this. We always stand by our citizens in every aspect of life.” said.

It will facilitate transportation in case of disaster.

The bridge also has strategic importance. In the event of a possible disaster or emergency, the Green Valley was determined as the gathering and sheltering area of ​​the citizens. With the construction of the bridge, transportation to the area became easier in case of disasters and emergencies.
