Stating that respiratory tract infections are more common in winter, as the weather gets colder and children start to spend more time in crowded environments such as school or nursery, Dr. Necmi Eşiyok, “As the hospital administration, it will serve our people with 46 beds by increasing the patient bed capacity in our children's service for precautionary purposes. Thus, except for specific diseases, our citizens will be prevented from going out of the province for treatment in our hospital. Among the reasons for the frequent occurrence of respiratory tract infections in children are the fact that they have not yet gained immunity and that they do not follow the hygiene rules adequately.

Suruç State Hospital Child Health and Diseases Specialist, who gave information about the ailments in children due to seasonal changes. Dr. Seher İdil said, “We see that the viral load has increased due to seasonal weather changes in Suruç and Şanlıurfa. In these, flu and diarrhea are more common in children, and influenza is frequently seen due to the seasonal transition. We recommend that you apply to the hospital immediately if blood is seen in diarrhea due to fever lasting more than three days or diarrhea lasting more than one week. We do not recommend using antibiotics for viral infections. In general, we do not recommend using antibiotics for all diseases without the advice of a doctor. The most important thing to protect from viral infections is hygiene, it is recommended to teach children to wash their hands and reduce their contact with each other, to use masks and to use more vitamins, vegetables with vitamin C and fresh fruits as food.
