The Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry has accelerated its efforts to increase the size of the consolidated land to 2023 million hectares by the end of 8,5. Land consolidation works were started for the first time in 1961 in Karkın Village of Çumra district of Konya province by the abolished TOPRAKSU General Directorate. From that year to 2002, registration works were completed in an area of ​​450 thousand hectares. Necessary activities were carried out on an area of ​​2003 million hectares from 5,9 until the end of last month. Thus, the size of the registered area reached 6,34 million hectares in total.

While registration works were completed on an area of ​​320 thousand 161 hectares in the January-November period this year, the registered consolidated area is expected to reach a total of 6,77 million hectares by the end of the year.

While there is 14,3 million hectares of land suitable for land consolidation work in Turkey, it is planned to reach 2023 million hectares of land consolidated by the end of 8,5.

While 450 projects were carried out within the scope of consolidation works, 306 of them were completed and work is still in progress in 144.

Among the benefits of land consolidation are the increase in parcel sizes, the creation of regular and ideal parcel shapes, the fact that each parcel is fronted to the road and connected to the irrigation network, the increase in the irrigation rate, savings in public investments, the use of modern agricultural techniques, the application of modern agricultural techniques, time, fuel and labor force. savings, renewal of land registry and cadastral records, facilitation of agricultural control and fertilization, and income increase for farmers.

DSI has been carrying out consolidation works since 2018.

2 BILLION LIRA SUPPORT FOR IRRIGATION PROJECTS

On the other hand, the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry has been providing 2007 percent grant support for individual on-farm modern irrigation systems since 1, provided that the purchase amount of goods that is the basis for the grant does not exceed 50 million liras.

Within the scope of the support, there are in-farm drip, in-farm sprinkler, in-farm micro-sprinkling, in-field sub-surface drip, linear or center pivot, drum and solar powered irrigation systems, solar energy systems for agricultural irrigation and smart irrigation systems projects.

In the 2007-2022 period, 47 thousand 264 projects in irrigation were included in the grant, and 4 million 703 thousand 211 decares of land were irrigated with modern irrigation systems. For these transactions, a total of 2 billion 13 million 486 thousand 439 lira grant support was paid to the citizens.

For this year, a grant of 395 million 229 thousand 4 liras was given to 733 thousand 238 projects on an area of ​​950 thousand 565 decares.

MINISTRY FOCUS ON SOIL PROJECTS

On the other hand, a "Soil Database" is being created for the sustainable use of agricultural lands. In terms of sustainable use of soils, carbon, nutrient and toxic element contents are determined and their productivity status is revealed.

With the "Agricultural Land Use Planning Model Studies", a model proposal suitable for plot-level product pattern planning is developed by determining the soil maps of the soils on a serial basis, their suitability for agricultural use, climatic characteristics, socio-economic conditions of the producers, the existing product pattern and alternative products and creating a database.

The “Development and Dissemination of Biological Fertilizers Project” is being carried out with the aim of reducing the use of chemicals and developing environmentally friendly fertilizers in order to ensure the sustainable use of soil and water resources and to reach safe food.

The "Organic Waste and Waste Management National Project" aims to increase soil organic matter by recycling various plant and animal wastes and residues, to produce cheap organic fertilizers by using local resources, to reduce the use of chemical fertilizers and to produce healthy.

TAGEM, within the scope of the Ministry's Strategy Action Plan (2019-2023) and the National Strategy and Action Plan for Combating Desertification (2015-2023), aims to protect agricultural and pasture lands, combat desertification and erosion, balance land degradation (ATD) and develop related policies and strategies. Regional and national projects are carried out in line with the goals and objectives in the plans.

While the prototype of the "Land Type Soil Carbon Dioxide Emission Analysis System", developed in cooperation with TAGEM and the private sector, is being developed, studies are continuing for domestic and international marketing. With the project, measurement and monitoring studies of greenhouse gases emitted from the soil to the atmosphere will be carried out within the scope of the effects of climate change on agricultural activities. It is aimed that the system will serve the whole country and contribute to the reduction of imports.
