The Assets of Chinese Financial Institutions Increased by 10,3 Percent

Chinese official data showed that the balance sheets of the country's financial institutions grew as of the end of the third quarter of 2022. The combined assets of the country's financial institutions expanded by 10,1 percent year-on-year to 413,46 trillion yuan ($59,23 trillion) by the end of the third quarter.

On the other hand, data from the Bank of China showed that the combined total liabilities reached 10,3 trillion yuan, increasing by 376,61 percent as of the same period and on a yearly basis.

Banking institutions, which make up the lion's share of the financial industry, reported an increase of 10,2 percent in their total assets; Combined assets within the securities industry increased by 7,3 percent year-on-year. Country insurers, on the other hand, announced that their combined assets amounted to 9,8 trillion yuan, up 26,71 percent year on year, according to data from the Central Bank.
