The deep-sea research port, located in the Nansha district of Guangzhou, the center of China's Guangdong province, was officially put into service yesterday. Subordinate to the Guangzhou Marine Geological Survey Bureau of the Chinese State Geological Survey Administration, the port is China's first deep-sea exploration port.
The port, which can hold 5 scientific research ships at the same time, is of great importance for ocean research studies and the development of deep sea technologies in China.
