Applications Started for the 42nd Istanbul Film Festival

Applications are open for the 7nd Istanbul Film Festival, which will be held by the Istanbul Foundation for Culture and Arts (İKSV) on April 18-2023, 42.

According to the statement made by İKSV, applications to the "Turkish Cinema" section of the festival will be received on the official website of the festival.

While the deadline for the films to be included in the festival program is set as 20 January 2023, detailed information for applications is available on the festival's official website “film.iksv.org”.

The films will meet with the audience under the titles of National Competition, National Documentary Competition and National Short Film Competition.

The Golden Tulip award will be given to the Best Film as the grand prize in the National Competition. In addition, the Special Jury Award, Best Director, Best Actress, Best Actor, Best Screenplay, Best Cinematography, Best Editing, Best Art Direction and Best Original Music awards will be presented.

In addition to the Best First Film Award to be given on behalf of Seyfi Teoman, the Best Documentary and Best Short Film, Best Cinematography and Best Editing awards will also find their owners. The films in the Young Masters section will be evaluated by the Young Jury.

The Special Jury Award, given in memory of Onat Kutlar, one of the founders of the festival, will continue on its way as the Kariyo & Ababay Foundation Special Jury Award this year. The prize money of 150 thousand TL will be shared between the producer and director of the film.

The advisory board of the Turkish Cinema department consists of film writers Engin Ertan, Kaan Karsan, Nil Kural and Esin Küçüktepepınar.
