Midyat City Crossing and Connection Roads and Midyat-Nusaybin Road, which were implemented in Mardin, were put into service on Saturday, 17 December with the public opening ceremony attended by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. Speaking at the opening, which was attended by Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Adil Karaismailoğlu and General Director of Highways Abdulkadir Uraloğlu, the President announced that they had increased the total length of divided roads in Mardin to 272 kilometers.
Sharing the video, which includes information about the projects that were opened, on his social media account, the President stated that the current project cost of the investments is 17,5 billion TL and said, "I congratulate those who contributed to bringing these investments to our cities." said.
With road projects; The development of Mardin, which has an important position in transit transportation in terms of being located at the junction of the East-West and North-South transportation corridors, was accelerated. The 21 km Midyat City Crossing and connection roads, which are in the standard of divided roads, which provide Midyat's urban transportation and connection with the surrounding settlements, have been upgraded to the road standard with bitumen hot mix pavement. Within the scope of the project, a total of 20 intersections, designed as 8 km long pedestrian pavement and central refuge, and 4 roundabouts and 12 with shelter pockets, were completed.
With the Midyat City Transition project, the District; Connecting branches to Mardin, Batman, Şırnak, Nusaybin and Dargeçit were arranged to increase the transportation standard and contribute to its modern appearance.
As the old Midyat South Ring Road, which is one of the branches of the Midyat City Pass, has become more preferable, the density caused by the transit traffic between Mardin and Şırnak in the city has been reduced and safe transportation has been established.
In addition, the platform width of the 6 km long existing road, which serves on a narrow platform of 7-43 m between Midyat and Nusaybin, has been increased to 12 m. duration reduced from 50 minutes to 30 minutes.
With the Midyat City Pass and Midyat-Nusaybin Road, a total of 28 million TL savings will be achieved annually, 10,4 million TL from time and 38,4 million TL from fuel; exhaust emissions will be reduced by 2.131 tons annually.
