2023 BMX World Cup will be held in Sakarya

Sakarya was the only city selected for the 2023 BMX World Cup in Turkey. It has been announced that the first two races of the cup, which will consist of 4 races in 10 different countries organized by the International Cycling Union (UCI), will be held in Sakarya.

Sakarya Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem Yüce said, “The Cycling Friendly City Sakarya will be the heart of cycling again. This wind will blow in our city again. We are excited and proud,” he said.

The International Cycling Union (UCI) has published the 2023 BMX World Cup Races calendar on its official site. Having the titles of World Cycling City and European Sports City, Sakarya again ranked first in this calendar. Sakarya was the only city chosen by UCI for the world cup in Turkey. The world will follow the exciting first race to be held in the Sunflower Cycling Valley, Europe's most comprehensive bicycle facility, from Sakarya. The first two races of the 4 BMX World Cup Races, which will consist of 10 different races in 2023 different countries, will be held in Sakarya on 3-4 June.

Making a statement on the subject, Metropolitan Mayor Ekrem Yüce said, “We will host an international championship again in 2023 in our city with the title of Bicycle Friendly City. Our Sakarya will once again be the heart of cycling. In the most exciting race in the world, the wind of the bicycle will blow again in our beautiful city. We feel the excitement and pride of living another year worthy of the titles of Bicycle Friendly City and European Sports City.”
