Karaismailoğlu, who made a press statement afterward, said, “As the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, we are proud of the fact that all the projects we have implemented have a great share in the future of our country. Our projects, works and services pave the way for our beautiful homeland, which is advancing with firm steps towards the Turkish Century. In the last 20 years, we have achieved many successes in the field of transportation and communication. We have brought many giant works such as the 1915 Çanakkale Bridge to the trade and tourism of our country. Undoubtedly, 1915 Çanakkale Bridge and Malkara-Çanakkale Highway are among the most exceptional projects implemented by our ministry. In addition to the benefits it has provided and will provide to our country, it is an engineering success that we offer to the service of the world.”

OUR COUNTRY, OUR QUALIFIED MAN POWER

Karaismailoğlu said, "It is the pride of our country and our trained manpower," and said that the passage through the Dardanelles Strait, which takes 30 minutes by ferry, often takes hours due to queues or when the sea and weather permits, is now completed in 6 minutes.

Underlining that the 100-kilometer-long Malkara-Çanakkale Highway has shortened the road by 40 kilometers compared to the old road, Karaismailoğlu continued his speech as follows:

"Moreover; We strengthened the logistics highway infrastructure of transportation to Çanakkale and the Aegean, by opening the Ayvacık-Küçükkuyu Road and the Troy-Assos Tunnels, the gateway of our Bridge to the Aegean and the Mediterranean. In order to regulate the traffic of Kazdağları, which intensifies in the south of Çanakkale, especially in summer, the section between Ayvacık and Küçükkuyu has also become a divided road. With the traffic becoming safe, the reunions accelerated, the road stress was over. Instead of comfort, peace came. We built the Ayvacık-Küçükkuyu Road and Troy-Assos tunnels, which ensure the integrity of the divided road on Çanakkale – İzmir and Çanakkale – Balıkesir Road. Thus, we have removed Kaz Mountains, which contains dozens of sharp bends, from being a nightmare for drivers. We reduced the transportation time from 50 minutes to 5 minutes. From now on, the unique nature and clean air of Kaz Mountains will be preserved; Çanakkale residents, local and foreign tourists and our transporter citizens will also benefit from the comfort of the road and the beauties of nature.”

1915 ÇANAKKALE BRIDGE BECOME ONE OF OUR COUNTRY'S ICON STRUCTURES

Emphasizing that the 1915 Çanakkale Bridge is the project of the “best”, “first” and the record with its architectural design and technical features, and that it has turned into one of the landmarks of Turkey, Minister of Transport Karaismailoğlu said, “With its 2 thousand 23 meters middle span, it is the longest middle span in the world. We are on the suspension bridge. Of course, this does not only tell us about our engineering success. It also expresses our respect to the date of 1923, the foundation year of our Republic, and to our ancestors who were martyred for this cause. It also emphasizes our 2023 vision for a bright Turkey, which we will present to our youth. Çanakkale Bridge has a total crossing length of 4 meters. Another important feature of our bridge is that it is one of the rare suspension bridges designed as twin decks in the world. The 608-meter steel towers of our bridge are also a tribute to March 318, 18, when the Çanakkale Naval Victory was won. The red and white color of the towers represents our Red Flag.”

IT IS ALSO A GREETING TO OUR SEYİT ONBAŞI FROM THE FUTURE GENERATION THAT HE ENROLLED THIS HOMELAND

Karaismailoğlu, Minister of Transport and Infrastructure, drew attention to the fact that they witnessed a historical moment and said, “With the 318-meter architectural cannonballs placed on top of the 16-meter towers, the 1915 Çanakkale Bridge went down in history as the suspension bridge with the highest towers in the world. With the steel cannonball figure weighing 75 tons and consisting of 4 parts, the tower height reached 334 meters. It is impossible for us to forget Seyit Corporal, one of the heroes of the Dardanelles War. As you know, our hero managed to put the cannonballs on his back with superhuman strength, and hit the British Battleship Ocean at the helm, causing it to go out of control and crash into a mine. So these cannonballs are not ordinary figures. It is also a greeting from the next generation that Seyit Corporal has entrusted this homeland to him.”

1915 ÇANAKKALE BRIDGE IS A NEW TURKEY'S MESSAGE TO THOSE WHO CANNOT HANDLE THE HERITAGE OF THE ANCIENT

Karaismailoğlu said that with the 1915 Çanakkale Bridge, Çanakkale also had a “work” worthy of Turkey's glorious history and the Turkish Century, and said, “Is there a wife in the world, Mehmet Akif, the poet of the homeland? This unique monument, which will befit the memory of Çanakkale Epic, is a source of pride for all of us. With the outstanding success in the construction works, our project was completed 1,5 years before the contract date, so we saved 628 million euros. Even this project alone is an important example of the great benefits of the Build-Operate-Transfer projects with Public-Private Cooperation to our country and nation. Contrary to daily shallow political discussions, we are already preparing the infrastructure of our 2053 Vision and the 'Turkish Century', in short, the bright future of Turkey and our youth, with our Transport and infrastructure works that we have implemented within the framework of the Transport and Logistics Master Plan, which requires having a vision. 1915 Çanakkale Bridge; It is the message of the New Turkey to those who are deprived of the love of the homeland and the nation, and who are unable to protect the heritage of their ancestors. 'Respect for our ancestors is a gift to our future.' led by our President; that it will not allow any obstacle to invest in its nation, to bring service, to carry Turkey above the level of contemporary civilizations; He concluded his words by saying that Turkey will be the leading country of the region.
