Mayor of Konya Metropolitan Municipality Uğur İbrahim Altay said that they invested 2022 million liras in agricultural support and agricultural irrigation only in 48 in order to develop agriculture throughout the city and increase the income of rural citizens. Stating that they spared no sacrifice to make the farmers and producers of Konya smile, Mayor Altay said that the amount of agricultural support and small-scale irrigation investment they have made since 2018 is 168 million TL.
Mayor of Konya Metropolitan Municipality Uğur İbrahim Altay stated that as the Metropolitan Municipality, they attach great importance to agricultural supports in order to increase the income of the citizens engaged in agriculture and to ensure rural development. In this context, President Altay stated that they did not refrain from making any sacrifices in order to put a smile on the face of farmers and producers from Konya in 2022.
2018 MILLION LIRA OF AGRICULTURAL SUPPORT SINCE 73, 95 MILLION LIRA IRRIGATION INVESTMENT
Reminding that they provided 2022 million liras of agricultural support only in 18, President Altay noted that they spent 14 million liras in the last year by constructing 30 new small-scale irrigation facilities with the support of KOP. Thus, Mayor Altay, who stated that the support they gave to agriculture in 2022 was 48 million, said, “As the Metropolitan Municipality, we provided 2018 million liras of agricultural support between the periods 2022-73. Again in this process, the cost of 62 small-scale irrigation projects that we have implemented with the support of KOP is 95 million TL. Thus, the total amount we spend for the development of Konya's agriculture reaches 168 million liras. We will continue to increase our support to increase the income of our citizens where they live and to develop our districts.” he said.
AGRICULTURAL SUPPORT IN 2022
Konya Metropolitan Municipality within the scope of seedling and sapling support in 2022; While supporting 590 thousand apples, sage, aronia, grapevine, almonds, walnuts, thyme and olives; 350 tons of Hungarian vetch, sainfoin and alfalfa seeds were supported. Within the scope of supporting agricultural machinery and equipment for the common use of farmers, the Metropolitan supported pulses packaging, solid fertilizer distribution, lavender harvesting, 2.5 and 5 tons/hour selectors, packaging packaging, stone harvesting, grape pressing, feed crushing, and feed crushing machine. Within the scope of the 2022 livestock support, the Metropolitan supported thousands of beehives, beehives and plasters.
ATIL LANDS ARE GIVEN TO THE ECONOMY
In addition, the Metropolitan, Meram Çomaklı and Kulu Acıkuyu, which continue to work to utilize the idle lands for social support by using local seeds suitable for the waterless agriculture model, every year 1,5 million square meters of land are used for social purposes. In addition, the support of region-specific products is increased in order to encourage agriculture without water and to bring unused lands to agriculture.
