In this context; Thanks to the measures taken at the borders, 2022 irregular migrants were prevented from entering Turkey in 274. The number of irregular migrants who have been prevented from entering our country since 311 has reached 2016 million 2 thousand 737.

Immigration pressure on the eastern and southern borders, that is, attempts to enter the country illegally, decreased by 38 percent compared to the previous year with the measures taken.

As a result of the inspections and operations carried out to apprehend those who entered Turkey illegally, the number of unduplicated irregular migrants apprehended increased by 76 percent compared to the same period of the previous year and was recorded as 231 thousand.

With all nationalities, 119 irregular migrants have been deported since the beginning of the year. Thus, before the end of the year, the highest number of deportations in the history of Turkey was reached.

The number of deportations increased by 159 percent compared to the same period last year. Again, when compared to the same period of the previous year, the number of deportations increased by 236 percent for foreigners with Afghanistan nationality, 22 percent for foreigners with Pakistani nationality and 167 percent for foreigners with other nationalities.

The number of irregular migrants deported since 2016 has reached 445 thousand 326.

In 2022, a total of 234 thousand 44 Afghan citizens were returned to their country, 433 of which were made with charter (private plane) flights, 22 thousand 101 and 66 thousand 534 with scheduled flights.

A total of 2 irregular migrants were safely sent to their country with 12 charter flights and scheduled flights to Pakistan.

The number of deportations in the whole of Europe is 53 thousand 885

Turkey, which has been under intense irregular migration pressure in recent years, has been successfully returning to Turkey, far above the European average. According to Eurostat data, although a total of 2021 irregular migrants were detected in EU countries in 709, only 900 of them were deported.
