Turkey to Share Vocational Education Reform with OECD Countries

In cooperation with the OECD and the Ministry of National Education, the conference titled "Building a Future-Ready Vocational Education and Training System: Learning the Experiences of Vocational Education and Training Reforms in Turkey" to discuss the reform carried out by Turkey in the field of vocational education, OECD countries and non-members will be held with the participation of many countries.

Hosted by the Ministry of National Education, with the cooperation of the OECD and the European Education Foundation, the OECD - Turkey Vocational Education Conference to be held on December 1, 2022 at the OECD Istanbul Center will be attended by countries such as Austria, Switzerland, Albania, Azerbaijan, Egypt, Croatia, Morocco, Slovakia, and Georgia. Turkey to share vocational education reform with OECD countries

Minister of National Education Mahmut Özer made an assessment regarding the OECD-Turkey vocational education conference and said, “We met with OECD Secretary General Mathias Cormann in Paris, where we went to attend the 'Transformation of Education Preliminary Summit' in Paris in June. Secretary General Cormann enthusiastically welcomed the transformations Turkey has made in the field of education, especially in the field of vocational education. The Secretary General said that we should share this experience with OECD countries and other countries in the region for inspiration. In this context, we will host a vocational training summit in Istanbul with the participation of OECD countries and non-member countries.” said.

Regarding the content of the conference, Minister Özer said, “At the conference to be held under four thematic groups, the suitability of vocational and technical education to the needs of the labor market, innovations in vocational and technical education, flexibility and inclusiveness in vocational and technical education, and transition support after vocational and technical education will be discussed.” gave information in his words.
