Turkey to share vocational education reform with OECD countries

Minister of National Education Mahmut Özer made an assessment regarding the OECD-Turkey vocational education conference and said, “We met with OECD Secretary General Mathias Cormann in Paris, where we went to attend the 'Transformation of Education Preliminary Summit' in Paris in June. Secretary General Cormann enthusiastically welcomed the transformations Turkey has made in the field of education, especially in the field of vocational education. The Secretary General said that we should share this experience with OECD countries and other countries in the region for inspiration. In this context, we will host a vocational training summit in Istanbul with the participation of OECD countries and non-member countries.” said.

Regarding the content of the conference, Minister Özer said, “At the conference to be held under four thematic groups, the suitability of vocational and technical education to the needs of the labor market, innovations in vocational and technical education, flexibility and inclusiveness in vocational and technical education, and transition support after vocational and technical education will be discussed.” gave information in his words.

Özer stated that Turkey has made a silent revolution in the field of education in the last twenty years and said, “Turkey is not mind-blowing in this way; It has become a country that transfers its experiences to other countries and shares its experiences. This is a source of pride for us. I would like to thank everyone who contributed to this point, especially our President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.” used the phrases.

The conference will share experiences with policy makers and social partners from OECD countries and other countries on policies and practices that are sensitive to vocational education systems, flexible, innovative and supporting the transition of students to the changing business world.
