Germany, which participated in Growtech, the world's largest greenhouse agriculture industry fair, with a national pavilion for the first time this year, took action for commercial cooperation with Turkey in different fields in the agricultural sector.
At the fair, which opened its doors at Antalya ANFAŞ Exhibition Center, Harald Braungardt, CEO of Step Systems GmbH, representative of the German Ministry of Agriculture, stated that Growtech provided important connections with other countries and said, “We see Turkey as the backbone where we can be in contact with other countries.”
As the representative of the German Ministry of Agriculture, CEO Harald Braungardt, who attended the fair to evaluate and report Growtech, drew attention to the fact that Turkey and Germany have had important commercial connections from the past.
GROWTECH'S POTENTIAL IS WORLDWIDE
Expressing that Growtech has a great potential not only for Turkey but also for the whole world and this potential is increasing, Braungardt said, “Growtech is an international fair. There are participants from countries such as Jordan, Georgia, Russia, Ukraine and Azerbaijan. We lost contact with them due to the events in Russia, now we are meeting in Turkey. There is a large region and Turkey is the platform with which we can establish the best relationship.”
TURKEY IS A NEW TRADE BRIDGE
Braungardt said that there was a big gas shortage in Germany due to the Russian-Ukrainian war and said, “We can't get any gas from Russia. We were getting 80 percent, now it's down to zero. It has become very expensive, the costs have risen. Especially in greenhouses. Not only agriculture but all sectors in Germany were hit hard. Such fairs become a source of connection for us again. We see Turkey as the backbone where we can be in contact with other countries. Turkey is a new trade bridge for us," he said.
Stating that they will be at Growtech next year, Braungardt said, “We will come back at Growtech as the support of the ministry of agriculture. Next year we will have a larger space. We want to continue new commercial cooperations," he said.
ENGIN ER: “GERMAN COMPANIES AIM TO PARTNERSHIP WITH TURKS IN LARGE AGRICULTURAL PROJECTS
Growtech Fair Director Engin Er, who stated that the fair got stronger with the national participation of Germany, said: “Germany wants to enter the markets that it cannot enter through the distributors or dealers it has contacted in Turkey. North Africa and Turkic Republics can be new markets. Turkey is now very advanced in plant production. German companies think that they can enter much bigger projects with Turks. Turkish companies have become assertive in greenhouse systems and irrigation systems. In this context, Turkey plays a bridge role with Germany in agricultural projects. Growtech will accelerate the development of agricultural foreign trade between the two countries.
