After the moment of silence, an official commemoration program was held in Cumhuriyet Square. İzmir Governor Yavuz Selim Köşger, Aegean Army and Garrison Commander General Kemal Yeni and İzmir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor attended the ceremony. Tunç Soyer, representatives of political parties, business world, official institutions and non-governmental organizations attended. At the ceremony, a wreath was laid at the Atatürk Monument.
