According to the latest information given by China International Railway Inc., tests with electrical energy started on the trial part of the Jakarta-Bandung railway, after the high-speed train of Chinese origin departed from the city of Jakarta last week. The Jakarta-Bandung high-speed rail project is an example of concrete cooperation between China and Indonesia within the framework of the Belt and Road joint construction.

The 142 kilometers long Jakarta-Bandung high-speed railway has a maximum design speed of 350 kilometers per hour. Thus, the journey between Jakarta and Bandung will be reduced from 3 hours to 40 minutes. Upon completion of construction, this line will be the first high-speed railway in Indonesia and Southeast Asia. All 11 high-speed trains for the Jakarta-Bandung railway are expected to arrive in Indonesia early next year.
