Extensive testing on the high-speed rail between Jakarta and Bandung in Indonesia was successfully completed yesterday.
The railway was tested by the movement of the test train produced by China International Railway Co. In the test, the high-speed train reached a speed of 385 kilometers per hour.
13 tunnels on the Jakarta-Bandung high-speed rail have been fully opened and track laying is underway. The 142.3-kilometer-long railway has a maximum design speed of 350 kilometers per hour. Thus, the journey between Jakarta and Bandung will be reduced from 3 hours to 40 minutes.
The opening ceremony of the test was attended by Chinese President Xi Jinping and Indonesian President Joko Widoo.
