A simultaneous earthquake drill was held in cooperation with the Disaster and Emergency Management Presidency (AFAD) and the Directorate of Religious Affairs.

With the participation of Minister of Interior Süleyman Soylu and Head of Religious Affairs Ali Erbaş, the "Earthquake Moment, Hold Down and Evacuation Exercise" was held simultaneously in institutions affiliated to the Diyanet across the country.

Our Minister Mr. Soylu and Erbaş attended the program held at the Presidency of Religious Affairs Campus.

The exercise, which was carried out in cooperation with the Disaster and Emergency Management Presidency (AFAD) and the Directorate of Religious Affairs, was carried out in 24 thousand 39 service buildings, including the Central Organization of the Presidency of Religious Affairs, provincial and district mufti offices, training centers, Religious High Specialization Centers and the Qur'an Course. 843 people attended.

Speaking after the exercise, Minister Soylu stated that 2021 million people were reached within the scope of the 56 Disaster Training Year and 2022 thousand exercises were carried out within the scope of the 66 Disaster Exercise Year.

Minister Soylu stated that the Directorate of Religious Affairs supports the efforts to combat drugs and disasters from domestic violence and violence against women, and said, “Today's exercise is important. We will hold a country exercise on November 12. This is done in countries with high earthquake disaster risk in the world. For the first time, a Turkish exercise will be held in Turkey. It's a simple exercise, just a 'grab hold of the snag' gesture.” he said.

Erbaş said that there are 25 thousand earthquakes a year in Turkey and that everyone should do their part in the fight against earthquakes.

Minister Soylu and Mr. Erbaş, representing 81 provinces, followed the exercise with a live connection to the institutions affiliated to the Diyanet in Antalya, Denizli, Gaziantep, Kocaeli, Ordu and Van.

Minister Soylu and Erbaş later participated in the exercise at the Diyanet Children's Nursery and Day Care Center in the presidential campus and accompanied the evacuation of the children during the exercise and went to the assembly area.

After the earthquake bags were presented to the students here, an AFAD officer held a demonstration with a search and rescue dog.

Minister Soylu and Erbaş made a statement to the press in front of the Mobile Coordination Center established in the presidential campus.

Stating that the earthquake drills in institutions affiliated to Diyanet throughout Turkey were successfully completed, Minister Soylu stated that the Directorate of Religious Affairs provided moral support after the earthquakes in Elazig and Malatya.

Minister Soylu pointed out that an exercise will be held across the country at 12 on Saturday, November 18.57, the anniversary of the Düzce earthquake, and said, “There will be many innovations in that exercise, too. Hopefully we will have done it successfully.” said.

Minister Soylu said that he liked the brochure titled "Disaster Awareness in Mosques and Places of Worship" prepared by the Presidency of Religious Affairs.

The President of Religious Affairs, Erbaş, emphasized that with all the personnel of the Presidency, they stand by our Ministry and AFAD in the fight against disasters and they try to help all people by informing them correctly.

Erbaş said, “About 12 thousand children are receiving education in our 500 thousand 200 classrooms, and we will inform them about the disaster.” said.

Ankara Governor Vasip Şahin and AFAD President Yunus Sezer also participated in the exercise.
