Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Youth and Sports Club Amputee Football Team came third in the Amputee Football Turkey Cup held in Van. İzmir representative defeated Etimesgut Municipality, which was the undefeated Super League champion last season, 2-1 in the third place match in the cup and gained morale before the season. In the first 25 minutes of the match played at Van Atatürk City Stadium, our representative, who went ahead 2-0 with the goals of Frank and Rüstem, managed to leave the field with a 2-1 victory and came third in the Turkish Cup.
Indicating that they are happy to be third in the Turkish Cup, Coach Evren Uyanık said, “We fought well in the Turkish Cup in Van. We lost to Etimesgut Municipality in our first match, but we managed to get a rematch in the third place match and returned to İzmir with the trophy. This success before the league was an indicator of what we could achieve as a team. Thanks to everybody for their exertion. We will continue to represent İzmir in the best way in every field.”
