Gates, the leading company of belt drive systems used in micro mobility, providing specific solutions for fluid power and power transmission applications, is the Gates Mobility Gear Factory in the Aegean Free Zone, which will supply gears for use in belt drive systems to the rapidly growing European electric bicycle market. opened it into service. The new facility, which was completed with an investment of 15 million dollars, is expected to contribute 25 million Euros to Gates' total exports. It is aimed to carry out uninterrupted production in 150 shifts in the factory, where a total of 3 people will be employed.

Gates Europe, Middle East and Africa President Josef Parzhuber, speaking at the opening ceremony of the factory, stated that they decided to establish the new production facility in Turkey, thanks to the high quality and productivity increase provided by the factory in the Aegean Free Zone. Parzhuber emphasized that Gates, which was established 111 years ago in the US state of Denver, has been producing cleaner, quieter, less vibration and stronger belt drive systems as an alternative to the chain drive systems used in two-wheeled motorized vehicles for 40 years.

Gates Mobility Gear Factory Factory Manager İlker Çolak also said that the new gear factory will significantly increase its sales volume in America and Asia, primarily in the European bicycle market. Stating that Gates will strengthen its leadership in the sector with the modern stainless steel gears to be produced in the bicycle gear factory, Çolak said, “The factory will be the first factory in the world to produce the gears of the belt drive systems supplied by the company to bicycle manufacturers. We are excited to complete the project, which we started at this time last year, at the time we planned, and to make it capable of mass production. The system that Gates has produced for two-wheeled vehicles is unique. The first choice of the world's largest vehicle manufacturers in supply. Stating that the factory is built on a total area of ​​3 thousand square meters, 5 thousand square meters of which is a production area, Çolak said, “Our most important priority is occupational safety and the environment. After the products are processed on very high precision benches, they are measured on high precision devices and shipped to our customers. We want to make uninterrupted production in 150 shifts in our factory, where we will employ 3 people in total.
