FNSS is participating in the “Indo Defense Expo & Forum 2”, which will be held in Jakarta, Indonesia, between 5-2022 November. The 9th Indo Defense Fair, after a four-year hiatus due to the pandemic, will open its doors to visitors from all over the world at JIExpo Kemayoran.

FNSS will be exhibiting ZAHA together with the ÇAKA Remote Controlled Tower (UKK) at booth A-A005a. KAPLAN MT (HARIMAU), which was developed jointly by FNSS and PT Pindad within the scope of the Defense Industry Cooperation Agreement signed between Turkey and Indonesia, will take place in the Military Live Display to be held in the open area of the fair.

The Armored Amphibious Assault Vehicle (ZAHA) is a cutting-edge amphibious vehicle designed by FNSS, taking into account the needs of amphibious landing troops. ZAHA, which has the ability to take the distance between the ship and the shore in the fastest way during an amphibious landing operation, can land from the dock landing ships approaching the shore during the landing phase of the operation and cover the distance at high speed, enabling the troops to land under protection and with fire support in a short time. . The vehicle has four different configurations: Personnel Carrier, Command Vehicle, Rescue Vehicle and Mine Gate Opener Vehicle.

The hull design to reduce drag on the water and powerful water jets give ZAHA high maneuverability at sea with a maximum speed of 7 knots. With the remote-controlled turret system ÇAKA UKK, originally developed by FNSS, ZAHA has high firepower with a 12.7 mm machine gun and 40 mm automatic grenade launcher.

In addition to ZAHA, KAPLAN MT, which was developed within the scope of the project signed between the Presidency of Defense Industries and the Indonesian Ministry of Defense with an interstate agreement, will take place in the live demonstration of the Indonesian Army on Wednesday, November 2, in the open area of the Indo Defense Fair.

Within the scope of the KAPLAN MT (HARIMAU) Medium Weight Class Tank Mass Production Long-Term Cooperation Agreement signed between FNSS Defense Systems and PT Pindad, FNSS has completed the production of the first batch of vehicles with mass production configuration. While 10 tank platforms manufactured at FNSS facilities were shipped to Indonesia for final tower assembly, the parts and subsystems of the remaining 8 tanks, whose production was started at PT Pindad facilities, were shipped to Indonesia as tool kits. Production of the vehicles is expected to be completed by the end of the first half of 2023.

The design architecture with advanced ballistics and mine protection systems, the precision direct fire capability of the KAPLAN MT, which allows the use of a wide variety of firepower ranging from close fire support for infantry units to armor-piercing ammunition against larger targets, provides the vehicle with superior tactical and strategic mobility. It also provides the needed striking power. While the KAPLAN MT gets its advanced mobility from the 6-wheel suspension system built on double pin tracks and torsion shafts, it successfully combines its adaptability to the terrain and superior driving characteristics in mountainous, high rough terrain conditions where main battle tanks would have difficulty entering, and on roads with low-carrying bridges. .

While the KAPLAN MT stands out as the first vehicle to be exported in the Tank Class in Turkey, the project itself once again proves FNSS' export experience and the success of its technology transfer model, with the design excellence studies completed in a short time and the platform productions completed within the stipulated schedule.
