'Art for Every Child' Project Started in Ankara

Ankara Metropolitan Municipality introduces the children of the Capital City to music within the scope of the “Art for Every Child” project. In project scope; Children, who will receive music education, especially violin, cello and choir, by expert instructors and academicians, experienced the excitement of the first lesson.

The bell for the first lesson rang in the “Art for Every Child” project, which was promoted by the Ankara Metropolitan Municipality on October 29, Republic Day.

Within the scope of the project where children living in socially, culturally and economically disadvantaged regions of Ankara meet music; In Altındağ Youth Center, art training started to be given to a total of 25 children, 25 of them for violin, 50 for cello and 100 for choir, by expert trainers and academicians.

TRAININGS WILL CONTINUE FOR ONE YEAR

Within the scope of the project implemented by the ABB Women and Family Services Department with the contributions of the Children and Art Lovers Group, 100 children with an interest in music will take lessons 1 days a week for 3 year. At the end of the training, the children will take the stage and give a mini concert.

Ümit Ağan, the founder of the Children and Art Lovers Community, stated that they prepared the project together with the Ankara Metropolitan Municipality and said, “We want our children to be given equal rights. We decided to address the issue of music so that they could stand on their feet for life. We will teach our children violin, cello and choir. Despite the large number of children, families and Metropolitan Mayor Mansur Yavaş and his team have always been by our side.”

Şeyma İlhan, Head of Family Life Centers at the Women and Family Services Department, said, “We will continue training in our socially, economically and culturally disadvantaged regions in line with the demands. We started violin and cello training, and we will continue with the choir. I wish our children success. On the 100th anniversary of our Republic, we are planning to organize a concert event with our children who are studying here”, while Gazi University Music Education Department Faculty Member Gülşah Sever expressed her thoughts, “There is always hope. This project can come to very good places. We are making a start now. I am sure that this start will be places where it will make a big impact,” he said.

Ezgi Özkan Sarıgül, who gave cello training to students within the scope of the project and is a doctoral student and cello instructor at Gazi University, emphasized that there was a lot of interest in the lessons and said:

“We are trying to instill art and music with this project, which we started with the aim of introducing music to our children and ensuring that they have a place in their lives. In this project, we started cello lessons with our children. According to the quota, we will continue to give cello training to our children from time to time.”

The project, which is planned to be carried out every year, aims to introduce children to art branches such as music, dance and painting, to discover their talents and to contribute to their self-development.
