Emirates and Gulf Air Sign Codeshare Partnership

This week, Emirates and Gulf Air formally signed a one-way codeshare partnership that will go into effect in December of this year*. The new agreement will offer Gulf Air customers easy connections and enhanced flight options while connecting to Dubai and a number of Emirates destinations in Europe, Africa, South America and the Far East.

The agreement was signed on the first day of the Bahrain Air Show and confirms the deepening relationship between the two airlines based on last year's cooperation. The agreement was signed by Sir Tim Clark, President of Emirates Airline, and Captain Waleed Al Alawi, CEO of Gulf Air, in the presence of Mr. Zayed R. Alzayani, President of Gulf Air. Management members of both airlines attended the signing ceremony.

As part of the expanded partnership, Gulf Air will use the GF marketing code on Emirates-operated flights from Dubai to some of the world's most attractive destinations, offering Gulf Air customers new vacation options. Passengers will be able to transfer on the routes of Budapest, Prague, Warsaw, Algeria, Tunis, Bali, Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Taipei and Sao Paulo.

The new flight-sharing agreement includes a combination of unique travel options at a time when GCC travelers are increasingly informed, value-driven, and increasingly seeking new, diverse experiences and attractions outside of traditional vacation destinations.

The new partnership will also offer customers unified ticketing and check-in, single policy, hassle-free baggage transfer and competitive one-stop prices for connecting flights with Emirates. Customers can book travel on Gulf Air's website, through Gulf Air outlets, online travel agents and local travel agents.

“We are delighted to partner with Gulf Air to provide customers with better access to our unique airline network and a wide range of connectivity options to selected destinations, including Emirates' signature services. We look forward to further strengthening our relationship and cooperation and success with Gulf Air in the near future,” said Sir Tim Clark, President of Emirates Airline.

“Our relationship with Emirates Airline has always been strong and today we are taking it to the next level with many more opportunities for mutual cooperation emerging between us. “This partnership enables us to both deliver a higher level of travel experience to our passengers and expand their travel options,” said Captain Waleed Al Alawi, Chief Executive Officer of Gulf Air.

Emirates currently has codeshare agreements with 26 airline partners and two rail companies worldwide, expanding its reach to more than 300 cities.
