Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change Minister Murat Kurum announced that after the 04.08 magnitude earthquake that occurred in the Gölyaka district of Düzce at 5.9 in the morning today, expert teams were immediately dispatched to the region. Minister Kurum made a statement on his official social media account, “We sent all our teams from the surrounding provinces to the region. We are in the field in Düzce with our 37 damage assessment team, mobile laboratory vehicle, coordination and monitoring tools. May our citizens rest in peace. We will quickly complete the damage assessments and take our steps.” He used his expressions. In the meantime, 74 teams, consisting of 37 engineers and experts, affiliated to the Ministry, General Directorate of Construction, started to work in Düzce to support the damage assessment and studies. In addition, the Ministry carries out its activities in the field with a total of 6 vehicles consisting of mobile laboratory, coordination and monitoring tools. It was also stated that the earthquake in Düzce was felt in the provinces of Bolu, Zonguldak and Sakarya and teams were sent to these regions.
