The foundation of Emek Youth and Sports Facility, designed by Bursa Metropolitan Municipality, was laid with a ceremony. The facility, where new Olympic medalists will be trained, was named after Hatice Kübra İlgün, a National Taekwondo player from Metropolitan Belediyespor, who brought Bursa an Olympic medal 'for the first time in its history'.
In addition to supporting amateur clubs in order to make Bursa a brand city in sports, the Metropolitan Municipality, which provides the city with special sports facilities in 'different branches', is also building a privileged facility in Emek Mahallesi. There will be a wrestling hall, taekwondo hall, locker rooms and trainer rooms on the ground floor of Emek Hatice Kübra İlgün Youth and Sports Facility, which will have a total usage area of 1420 square meters. The upper floor will be used as a youth center with its library, audio reading room, dietitian/psychologist room and study areas. 15 million TL of the cost of the project, which will meet an important need in the region with its landscaping and open parking lot, and which is expected to cost approximately 7 million TL, will be covered by the Ministry of Youth and Sports. The foundation of the facilities, where it is aimed to train new athletes who will compete in the Olympics, was laid with a ceremony attended by Bursa Metropolitan Mayor Alinur Aktaş, deputies Muhammet Müfit Aydın and Refik Özen, Olympic medalist Hatice Kübra İlgün, regional headmen and citizens.
“We are investing in our future”
Bursa Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Alinur Aktaş said that they are active in more than 17 construction sites in 600 districts, in every field from infrastructure to transportation, from the environment to historical heritage. Noting that Emek and the neighborhoods around it are growing rapidly, and accordingly the needs are constantly increasing, Mayor Aktaş said, “We have done our work on the Mother's Hug in this process. Now the second is required. Hopefully we will work on it as well. There is a study on urban transformation in Akpınar. We worked on Çamlık Park, more to come. But believe me, among all these studies, what excites me the most is the work we do for our children and youth. Because they are our future, the future of our city and country. What we can do for them is less. Hopefully, when this place is over, the parents in the region will be so happy that 'God bless you. They will say, 'I wish you had done this before. Hopefully there is a second phase to this. We evaluate in terms of swimming pool or gym. By the way, our daughter Hatice is sitting in the front. He is our national athlete, our hundred current. He is a brother of ours who achieved an Olympic degree for the first time in the history of Bursa. We name this facility after him. Our facility is already beneficial to our region and Bursa," he said.
The best examples of municipality
Bursa Deputy Refik Özen said that Bursa is in love and they experience the blessings of unity and solidarity in this city. Stating that they offer the best examples of EC services to Turkey, together with all municipalities, especially the Metropolitan Municipality, Özen stated that they are working hard for the people of Bursa, day and night, without stopping. Explaining that they aim to leave a better Turkey to the young people who are our future, Özen said, “The labor region is a region that deserves more service. I would like to thank the Metropolitan Municipality and our President Alinur Aktaş for their investment. I would also like to extend my congratulations to Hatice Kübra İlgün for the innumerable pride she has given us. He made us proud when he raised our star and crescent flag in the international arena. New Hatice Kübralar will grow
Bursa Deputy Muhammet Müfit Aydın also stated that the Metropolitan Municipality added value to the city with its intensive opening programs and explained that they had difficulties in catching up with the ceremonies. Aydın thanked the Metropolitan Municipality for her services and congratulated Hatice Kübra İlgün for making the Turkish Nation proud with her success. Stating that the best jobs in the world can be achieved when young people are given the opportunity, Aydın said, “Due to the investments made, many Hatice Kübra will grow up from now on. Together with the youth centers opened, our children will achieve more success. We will continue to be the servants of our people and our youth. I hope that the facility will bring good luck to our city and our youth.”
Adnan Menderes District Headman Naci Özbay and Akpınar District Headman Sevgi Gültekin also conveyed their thanks to Mayor Aktaş "for the facility to be added to the region".
After the speeches, President Aktaş, who took the head of the button with the protocol members, took the floor from the responsible of the contractor company for the construction, which has a duration of 1 year, to be completed in May and opened in June.
