Bursa 6th International Block Marble Fair, organized with the cooperation of Bursa Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BTSO), TÜYAP Bursa Fairs AŞ and Mining Marble Producer and Industrialist Businessmen Association (MADSİAD), opened its doors to its visitors.
Speaking at the opening ceremony of the fair in Bursa International Fair and Congress Center, BTSO Chairman of the Board İbrahim Burkay stated that the fair is in a very important position worldwide. Emphasizing that Turkey is rich in marble, Burkay said: “This country has 5 billion cubic meters of reserves. 40% of the world's marble capacity is in this geography. This is the land of marble. Our agriculture is essential. Then you can put tourism, service sector, technology, industry, mine. Compared to the past, the Turkish business world now has the knowledge to do these things far beyond what the modern world has done. Good examples in all sectors and in the mining sector have now started in our country. This is our greatest strength. The sector has reached almost 200 billion dollars from 2,5 million dollars. We will take this much further. We will improve our perception in the public and take it to much better points together. We have 800 mines and over 500 companies. 7 thousand large and small workshops make a serious contribution to the Turkish economy in this sector.”
After 3 Years
İlhan Ersözlü, General Manager of TÜYAP Fairs Yapım AŞ, said that they brought together buyers and companies again after 19 years in the organization, which they had to take a break in 2019 due to the Kovid-3 outbreak. Stating that the foyer area, open exhibition area and 6 halls are completely filled, Ersözlü said, “50 valuable companies participate in the fair in the exhibition area of 200 thousand square meters. There are participants from almost all geographies of Turkey and cities that are important in the sector. Within the scope of the fair, precious stones are displayed for the first time. Our biggest goal is to contribute to the export of our country. In this important event, domestic and foreign companies will cooperate with each other. We expect an intense participation until the last day of the fair. Until the last day of the fair, we will see a large number of business people, especially from abroad. Currently, approximately 1200 business people from different geographies are invited.” said.

MADSİAD Chairman of the Board Erol Efendioğlu stated that 6 thousand 2 blocks of marble were brought to Bursa 2th International Block Marble Fair with 200 thousand trucks and said, “The market value of these marbles is between 8 and 10 million dollars. Such a large trade volume will also contribute greatly to our country in terms of foreign currency.” said.
The members of the protocol visited the halls and examined the marbles at the fair where they cut the ribbon and opened it. Bursa Deputy Governor Dr. Yusuf Gökhan Yolcu, Chairman of the Turkish Exporters Assembly Mining Sector Board and Istanbul Mineral Exporters' Association Chairman of the Board Rüstem Çetinkaya, Aegean Mineral Exporters' Association Chairman İbrahim Alimoğlu, Bursa Metropolitan Municipality Deputy Mayor Murat Demir and business people.
