At the XNUMXth Battery Technologies Workshop, hosted by ASPİLSAN Energy, alternative solutions in the world's energy crisis were discussed within the framework of the circular economy. The workshop brought together representatives of institutions, organizations and companies that have a say in the sector and academics from distinguished universities.

At the 31th Battery Technologies Workshop held between 1 October and 2022 November 7, twelve topics were discussed in three main themes: “energy crisis and resource management”, “technology developments and alternative energy solutions”, “importance of battery recycling and its meaning in resource supply”. A separate panel was created.

Making a statement regarding the battery technologies workshop organized by ASPİLSAN Energy for the seventh time, ASPİLSAN Energy General Manager Ferhat Özsoy said: “As ASPİLSAN Energy, an organization of the Turkish Armed Forces Foundation, we have been working for 41 years to ensure that our country can achieve its technology and renewable energy targets. In this context, we attach great importance to our battery technologies workshop, which has become traditional, with the mission of creating an ecosystem on batteries and batteries and gathering all the stakeholders of the industry around the same platform.

We Organize the Workshop with a Growing Participation Every Year

All our activities to meet the energy needs of our country and our defense industry; We always aim to implement it with innovative approaches, without leaving the strategy we have drawn, and to be a pioneer in the technologies of the future. In this context, we are becoming the pioneer and reference point of the industry in terms of innovative approaches as well as R&D and production in the field of battery technologies.

Battery and battery technologies are among the top priorities of today. Therefore, the fact that we are organizing our workshop with an ever-growing participation, both nationally and internationally, shows us how well we are on the right track. Our battery technologies workshop is important in terms of identifying ideas that will guide the ecosystem with content that keeps the pulse of the sector and the world agenda.

Our Lithium Ion Battery Facility, which will add power to our country's energy, has started production

As ASPİLSAN Energy, our lithium-ion battery production facility, whose foundation was laid in October 2020 in Mimarsinan Organized Industrial Zone, started mass production in June 2022. Our facility has been completed for approximately 1,5 billion liras and our President Recep Tayyip ERDOĞAN, our Minister of National Defense Hulusi AKAR, our Minister of Industry and Technology Mustafa VARANK, our Chairman of the Board of SSB and TAFF Prof. Dr. İsmail DEMİR, Deputy Ministers of Industry and Technology, Mr. Hasan BÜYÜKDEDE and Mr. Çetin Ali DÖNMEZ, and the General Manager of the Turkish Armed Forces Foundation, Mr. Sadık PİYADE, contributed greatly to the establishment of the factory.

Our ASPİLSAN Energy lithium-ion battery factory is a strategic facility and meets a very important need for domestic production of batteries and batteries, which is an important need of the Turkish Armed Forces and many institutions in the private sector. This is a stage where a very critical process in terms of localization and nationalization has been left behind. As ASPİLSAN Energy, we will reduce our country's dependence on abroad in terms of batteries and batteries in the energy crisis in the world.

I would like to point out that the cylindrical batteries produced in our factory are used especially in the defense industry, in radios, in all kinds of portable systems, in the civil field from vacuum cleaners to electric bicycles, from the telecommunications sector to energy storage systems and electric vehicles.

Turkey Is Moving Fast To Become A Battery Country

Turkey has taken fast steps towards becoming a battery country and I can say that we are carrying out a serious effort to produce the raw materials of the battery in our country. This issue was discussed in our workshop and it was seen in this workshop how much progress we have made in a very short time. Our companies are also making rapid progress in recycling.

The fact that the production of the rechargeable battery in Turkey will contribute to the rapid development of other technologies and this will play a serious role in the independence of our country in terms of technology.

In this context, I would like to express that we are continuing our R&D studies at full speed and with the support of our state, we are in an effort to make ASPİLSAN Energy one of the world's leading battery manufacturers.”
