We will succeed in being a city worthy of the century," said the President of IMM. Ekrem İmamoğlu“We want to fight together by raising the awareness of our citizens against urban, environmental, social risks and dangers. In that respect; I am calling out to everyone who mentions the name 'Canal Istanbul' without neglecting it in some political meetings, which is perhaps the biggest threat to Istanbul: We will eliminate this risk as a nation, with 16 million Istanbulites. We will remove this from the memory and agenda of Istanbul.” Giving the good news that they will build a similar facility in Şile Kömürcüoda, İmamoğlu said, “As I talked to my friends; We will have zeroed this problem there, not with a production time like here, but with a production time of a little over a year.”

Within the scope of the "150 Projects in 150 Days" marathon, Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) brought the Silivri Seymen Waste Water Treatment Plant, which will be the largest in Europe in its category, with a daily waste treatment capacity of 4 thousand cubic meters, to Istanbul. "BOĞLUCA VALLEY OF LIFE" THANKS TO SİLİVRİ MUNICIPALITY

“We attach great importance to not allowing the stream beds of Istanbul to be built up more, to protect and develop them, and to transform them into living valleys, especially with their green areas. We are making an intense effort for this," said İmamoğlu, and reminded that they opened the first and second stages of Silivri Boğluca Yaşam Vadisi in this context. Stating that the 3rd and 4th stages of the valley will be completed by the Silivri Municipality, İmamoğlu said, “There is a situation: A municipality that is a member of a party will have made half of the Boğluca Yaşam Valley. The other part will be made by the Metropolitan Municipality, which is a member of another party. So what will it be like? In other words, half of them will be used by citizens who are members of that party, and the other half will be used by citizens who are members of another party? No. In this respect, I appreciate and find it valuable that our Silivri Municipality displays its common sense behavior, cooperation and ability to produce work together, thinking at the table with us and sharing. From the presence of all of you, I thank the President," he said.

“IF WE PRIORITIZE THE INTEREST OF THE CITIZENS, NOT THE POLITICAL ACCOUNTS…”

Emphasizing that they are open to similar collaborations with every district municipality in almost every field, İmamoğlu said:

“Because if we create a process in which the interests of our citizens are prioritized, not political calculations, then our citizens will gain and our nation will gain. Our country, region, district, Istanbul and Turkey will benefit. The services we put forth today, but let it be called Silivri, but not our Metropolitan Municipality, but the government of our State of the Republic of Turkey; The works, beneficial collaborations, projects and productions put forward belong to our nation. It belongs to our citizens. It cannot be a project of a political party. Political parties are tools for processes. We are people chosen by the discretion of our citizens, who have to serve the process well. The owner of every project made with the taxes of the citizens is clearly our citizens. We will all accept this as such. The area in which managers will reveal their differences is related to the way the work is done. It reveals itself on the side of capability by managing the cooperation process. Did you do it by hurting the public budget? Did you do it right? Did you make it on time? Or did you run the business scientifically? Did you make a mistake? Or did you do a 1-year job in 5 years? You have to look at them.”

“WE DELIVERED THE PROJECT WITH A COMPLETE RATE OF 3 PERCENT”

Speaking about the project they opened, İmamoğlu said, “This project was prepared and designed in the previous period, started at the beginning of 2018 and should be completed in 32 months according to the contract. But we, unfortunately, took delivery of this project with a 2019 percent completion rate in 3, at a time when more than half of its time has passed. In other words, when we took office, part of the field was excavated.” Emphasizing that in a metropolis like Istanbul, they are a management who knows how heavy the cost of delays or failures in projects is, İmamoğlu said, “We handled the process sensitively. We got it to where it is today. And we are proud of realizing the project with an advanced purification technology.” Pointing out that the facility is Europe's largest waste leachate treatment plant in its category, İmamoğlu said, “Volkan Bey touched upon a very crucial point. He talked about the stages of the domestic waste collection process that started with the district municipalities in Istanbul. The point that the world definitely wants to reach is for countries and cities to reach zero waste level.”

GOODWILL OF ŞİLE KÖMÜRCÜODA

Announcing that they will quickly start the construction of a similar facility in the waste storage area in Şile Kömürcüoda on the Anatolian side of the city, İmamoğlu said, “As I talked to my friends; With a manufacturing time of just over a year, not a production time like here, we will have zeroed this problem there. Kömürcüoda has been around for years. The garbage leachate problem there is not limited to a local area. I hope we will be proud of being able to eliminate a concept that pollutes the surrounding nature up to the sea in Kömürcüoda, as it is here, and we will have zeroed the problem on the Anatolian side as well. All these are important investments in a city like Istanbul, where 68 percent of the waste is unfortunately disposed of through regular landfills. As a city that has turned our direction towards zero attack, I hope we will succeed in becoming a city worthy of the 21st century with very fast movements. Emphasizing that Istanbul is in a hurry in this sense and does not have a moment to lose, İmamoğlu said, “We want to take action quickly in every field. We want to implement radical solutions in every issue. We want to fight together by raising the awareness of our citizens against urban, environmental, social risks and dangers. In that respect; I am calling out to everyone who mentions the name 'Canal Istanbul' without neglecting it in some political meetings, which is perhaps the biggest threat to Istanbul: We will eliminate this risk as a nation, with 16 million Istanbulites. We will remove this from the memory and agenda of Istanbul”.

YILMAZ: “WITH THE EXPRESSIONS OF EKREM; SERVICES LIKE THIS ARE FOR CITIZENS, NOT POLITICAL PARTIES"

We have always expressed by the mayors who serve the city, with your resources, with the resources we collect from you, that it returns to you again. We kept such investments, such opening ceremonies away from political considerations, political exits and political discussions; I hope we will continue to keep away from it," he said. After the speeches; After pressing the buttons by İmamoğlu, Yılmaz, Büyükçekmece Mayor Hasan Akgün and IYI Party IMM Assembly Group Deputy Chairman İbrahim Yılmaz, the facility was officially put into service.
