Turkey-EU High Level Dialogue Meeting to be Held in Brussels

The first high-level dialogue meeting between Turkey and the European Union (EU) on science, research, technology and innovation will be held in Brussels.

The EU Commission announced that on November 15, a Turkey-EU High Level Dialogue meeting will be held in Brussels on science, research, technology and innovation. After the meeting to be held at the EU Commission building, Industry and Technology Minister Mustafa Varank and EU Commission Commissioner for Innovation, Research, Culture, Education and Youth Mariya Gabriel will make a press statement.

COOPERATION MECHANISMS WILL BE DEVELOPED

The high-level dialogue meeting will focus on how to develop cooperation on current important issues such as green industrial production, renewable energy and smart cities, which are part of the goals of the European Green Consensus. At the meeting, the digital transformation of the industry and the development of cooperation mechanisms in union programs will be discussed.

IMPORTANT PARTNER IN INNOVATION PROGRAMS

An important partner in EU research and innovation programs since 2003, Turkey participated in the R&D program Horizon Europe, the education program Erasmus and the European Solidarity Program (ESC), which enables young people to volunteer in useful projects, in the 2021-2027 period.

HIGH-LEVEL DIALOGUE MEETING

On the other hand, EU Commissioner Gabriel will host a dinner on 14 November at the EU Commission building in honor of the delegation that will attend the Turkey-EU High Level Dialogue meeting. Minister Varank will attend the high-level dialogue meeting to be held at the commission building and will have a bilateral meeting with EU Commission Senior Vice President Margrethe Vestager.

WILL VISIT IMEC

On the same day, Varank will visit IMEC, an R&D organization operating in the fields of nanoelectronics and digital technologies, located in the city of Leuven, and will also attend a working dinner with the Digital Europe Platform.

CONSULTATION WILL BE AVAILABLE

Minister Varank will hold consultations with the representatives of Turkish NGOs operating in the city and the Turkish diaspora by holding the opening ceremony of the Turkish Maarif Foundation Representation and Training Center within the framework of his Brussels contacts.
